Allison (rainy-day-reads) How to Play

- Roll 2 dice to move around the board. You can use regular or electronic dice. Click here for electronic dice.

- Read a book for the genre, category, or theme of the square you land on before rolling again. You may plan up to one roll in advance.

- Choose books from your existing shelves if you can (real or virtual).

- If you need ideas, ask!

- If you land on a "Partner Pick" square, request in the game thread for someone to choose a book for you to read from one of your shelves (please provide the link to your shelf).

- If you are choosing a book for another player, select from their existing shelves. You may offer a choice of up to 3 books.

- One round is complete when you pass GO. You can play as many times as you like.

- If you find that you're unable to finish a book, you can forfeit the turn by asking for a Partner Pick substitute.

OMG - I'm on #49 - I Love this series!! Eve & Roarke are such fun to read. I devour these novels. Let me know if you need a few of these for your collection - I may have a few I can RABCK you.

message 44: by Eileen (new)

Eileen | 1860 comments RABCK? Does it matter what order I read them? Which would you recommend I begin with?

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1210 comments I would start at the beginning (Naked in Death). It’s not totally necessary to read in order but there are continuing characters/ storylines.

RABCK = random act of bookcrossing kindness. (Basically, I have books that I’m willing to share (as long as I’m shipping in the US the postage is reasonable) with no strings attached. Bookcrossing is a way of registering and releasing books and something I’ve done for years. I’m BKind2books on that site if you go to Bookcrossing.com)

message 46: by Eileen (new)

Eileen | 1860 comments Wow, that's a neat thing to be a part of! I've been giving away books for years, but nothing like that. My libraries have Naked in Death, so perhaps I will give it a try! One of my libraries also has books 1-5 as a single e-book.

Eileen, I've heard that Dean Koontz is good, although I'm not really a horror reader so I can't speak from experience. So I pick Prodigal Son for you. I hope you like it!
