This is one of the stronger of the alphabet series. It is a case that takes place in the present time of the book. Two men are found dead, and both become tied in with Kinsey, even though she has never met one of them in her life. At least one of the dead men was murdered, because he was shot but not by himself. The other one's cause of death is unknown, but since he's homeless and jaundiced it certainly looks like some sort of OD or natural causes, and don't even bother guessing that it is or isn't, because not everything about this is crystal clear, and we do not start the book off knowing who shot the one we know for sure was murdered.
One mystery is why whoever produced this audiobook had Judy Kay pronounce San Theresa the English way instead of the usual way with this book, but obviously that wasn't Grafton's intention.
