This is the fourth or fifth year of my reading Scotland... I didn’t make my goal last year but this is another year so another goal set... I’ll be reading a combination of fiction and non-fiction this year.i want to revisit my Lillian Beckwith books as well.

Hello Alexandra, glad you're joining in again and again :) I think I personally view goals as guidelines, I wouldn't want it to become a chore! I think someone else has mentioned Lillian Beckwith, I might give her work a go :)

Well I am feeling mightly chuffed with myself today. I have already finished my first Scottish book of the year and we are just on week 1! Finished The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell who owns The Bookshop in Wigtown. I really funny easy read and has put me off every contemplating owning a second hand bookshop... the reality is very different to the fantasy of it all. Off to a good start..

My second Scottish book complete for the year.... The Way of All Flesh by Ambrose Parry (Ambrose Parry is a pseudonym for a collaboration between Chris Brookmyre and Marisa Haetzman who are partners) .... set in Victorian era Edinburgh, so a historical fiction book about medicine, doctors, death, murder and deceit...I read this on the recommendation of a blogger I follow and have to say it was really enjoyable and the pace was great.. kept up a brisk gallop most of the time.
