1. Meekats
Complete one of the following tasks.

a. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, in much of the Namib Desert in Namibia and southwestern Angola, and in South Africa.

b. A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang" or "clan" .
Read a book with Mob, Gang or Clan in the title
c. A meerkat clan often contains about 20 meerkats, but some super-families have 50 or more members.

2. Emperor Penguins
Complete one of the following tasks.

a. Emperor Penguin's dorsal side and head are black and sharply delineated from the white belly, pale-yellow breast and bright-yellow ear patches.

2. The only penguin species that breeds during the Antarctic winter, emperor penguins trek 50–120 km (31–75 mi) over the ice to breeding colonies which may include thousands of individuals.

3.1 (Linda's Task) January Birthstone - Garnet
Read Three Books

1. Garnet is generally dark red
Read a book with a red cover (more than 50% ) or that has the word RED in the title
2. Garnet was thought to keep the wearer safe during travel
Read a book set in a country other than your own -OR- where the MC takes a trip
3. In Asia, bullets were once made from garnets because it was believed that they would cause enemies to bleed more.
