I’m here! It’s my very first read along and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve following you on YouTube for awhile and love your channel. I’ve also been wanting to read The Bear and the Nightingale for ages! I’m trying to tackle more classics this year as one of my reading goals.
My resolution is to actually read the book when I say I will. I’m super excited for this. Love fairy tales I’ve not heard of before. So will be starting this book very soon. Just waiting to hear how we are splitting up the book. Thanks again as always, Krista, for your leadership with our group and just your fun nature!
This month, I will also read this book, it has been on my TBR for some time and it will be extra joyful to read it with you all. I will start at the beginning of next week. As for New Year resolutions, I will try to spend more time regarding the activities I like and try to avoid activities I do not enjoy because everyone's doing it. One example is exercise, I will be more consistent but I will only do the ones I actually like such as walking/marching and dancing/walking videos.
My bookish resolutions are reading six big books (750 pages and more) in 2019, one in every two months (spreading the reading time for two months).
Also, I recently joined a book club in my hometown, I am aiming to be really active in that club.
I have already read the first two in this series but I would love to join in on the discussions. This book is unlike anything I have read before and I hope you all enjoy as much as I did.My goals this year are to enjoy the big books I own and have been wanting to read forever and finish some series. I also plan in January just to read what I want. Whether it be from the library or my owned books. It just seems that lately I get involved in either book clubs or, I forgot what there called, like nonfiction Nov. kind of things. Sorry tired.

I am here and excited. I didn't joint in as much as I would have liked in 2018. I hope to do better in 2019.Thanks, Krista, for facilitating.
I’m in. This book has been on my radar for a long time. I’m excited to finally sit down and read it. My reading goal this year is to just read books that I really enjoy. I don’t want to feel pressure by trying to read the most hyped books. I learned a lot last year about the types of books I prefer. Also, I’m a big mood reader. I do much better to not plan out my reading and just read whatever I feel like at the moment.

Hi Grace, and Welcome!! Glad you're joining in. Here's how it works. Each book I set up at the beginning of the month with a welcome/who's here post and then a discussion thread for 3-4 sections of the book. That way everyone can read at their own pace and check in at the end of each section to share thoughts and read what others were thinking. There's no deadlines or timelines and no one should be spoiled because the sections are clearly marked! Save all spoilery thoughts til the last discussion thread. I hope you enjoy reading along. I always love seeing what other people are thinking as we all read the same book each month. I'm glad you're joining the fun.

I'm here! I've been looking for a good reason to pick this one up and here it is! I'm looking forward to diving into this one with you guys.
I'm here! I started the book last night and read to page 58. It drew me in immediately. So far, so good!
meeee! ☺️ I have began this book twice, keep putting it down in preference of other books... then again I really dislike reading from a hardcover & that may be a contributing factor. Haha. I am so excited for this read along with you all!!
I am in for the first time (always late). I hope it will be a great book, and a great beginning of the year!
This is my first Read-a-long as well. I'm excited to start participating in more book discussions this year. My other goal is to read more print books. Currently the majority of my reading is done via audiobooks so this will take some intentional effort.
Hey everyone! I’m Laura and I’m new to the group but excited for the readalong for this and many books to come! Love your channel Krista ❤️My 2019 reading goals: Read 100 books this year, Read more from my existing Goodreads TBR that I started in 2013, mood read in hopes that I don’t get in as many reading slumps through the year, finish both the popsugar and ATY challenges
So many first-timers this month. I love it! I don't have time to individually welcome you all, but welcome! I'm glad you're here! I hope you pop back in and say hi to each other as the month goes on! Can't wait to hear what you all think about this book.
Oh, and you guys have some great resolutions/goals for the new year. I love reading about them!

Hello’ I’m new here, and new in GR. 😊 I don’t have monthly TBR because I’m a moodreader, but The Bear and the Nightingale is a great beginning. Firstly, I will finished in-processing book, and then I will start reading with you.
My 2019 goals:
- Meet new people and become friends
- Practice English ( I’m a Hungarian girl, last year I started reading in English, It’s hard but fun. :) )
Happy reading! ^^
I am glad to be joining in reading with the group again. It has been a bit with working full time and going to school full time also. I have wanted to read this book for sometime and winter in upstate NY seems like a great time to read this book. For my new year I would love to minimize a few things in my house. I tell myself I am going to go through my books and unhaul them but I just can't bring my self to do it, but clothes and other things I am definitely going to be going through. I do hope to read a bunch in my tbr's at home rather new books.

I'm with you in wanting to minimize. I did a big closet unhaul about 6 months ago and feel ready to do it again. I may wait until spring when I switch out some more clothes. Glad you're reading with us again this month!

Wow! I can't imagine reading in a different language than what I speak.
Hi, I'm Tasha and I'm new to the group. I found the group through your YT channel, Krista. Just watched a couple of episodes but am loving your energy and book choices, especially this month's read. It's just recently found it's way onto my tbr and radar and I'm excited to try it with you all.

Welcome Tasha, I'm glad you're here! And glad you found my channel! I hope you enjoy the laid-back set up of this group. There's no timeline or deadline for pages to read. Read at your own pace and share your thoughts on each of the sections when you get there. Be sure to read what other people are thinking too and feel free to respond and have discussion with them! Enjoy!

Hello everyone this will be my first read-along, and I am very excited! I am currently on Chapter 5, and I am hoping to finish the first part and comment by Wednesday the 9th. Krista I have been watching your channel for the past 2 months and have found we have similar tastes in reading. Looking forward to my first read-along!
I am hopeful to get by part 2 by Wednesday also...just starting Chapter 4. So far really enjoying it and perfect to read in the winter. My children’s fathers heritage is 100% Russian so a great book to have them read as well (they are adults, so no worries there!)
Hey everyone! This is my first time doing a read along and I’m exited! I’ve been wanting to read his book for awhile so I’m glad that I finally am!!
I was able to pick up this book at the library this week, and I am looking forward to reading it. I have not heard of this book before, but it sounds really interesting. One of my resolutions is to do better keeping up with readalongs/readathons/book clubs, both online and in real life. I start with enthusiasm but often neglect to check in with the group after the first few days. So, I want to do better at staying engaged with others until the end.

I love a new year as a fresh start to attack some goals in different areas of my life. I'm purposefully keeping my reading goals pretty simple this year, but I do still have goals I'd like to accomplish. I am focusing on continuing to minimize all my STUFF. I have a lot of extra that can be passed along. That's something I'll be working on this year. I'd love to hear one of your new year goals or resolutions!
