Karina | 1069 comments I am going to stick to my 75 books, even though I completed 85. I am going to try and read some longer books this year, so let's see what I can accomplish!

Karina | 1069 comments 1. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I really enjoyed this book! I’ve had it on my shelves for over a year now and I’m glad I decided to pick it up and read! I enjoyed this better than The Nightingale.

Four stars

Karina | 1069 comments 2. One Day in December by Josie Silver

This book is a part of my December BOTM box (1/3) that I am reading out of order because it was Reese Witherspoon’s December pick (I’ll get back to my August? box next)

This was a cute read. I read it on the plane ride home from St. Augustine and read until I finished it tonight!

I passed on Dec BotM and regret not getting this one. I didn't think I wanted a cutesy romance but everyone is raving about it! lol. At least Overdrive has it.

Yes, Florida! We went for a wedding and I didn't get to see as much as I wanted to so I really need to go back. Came back with a nasty sinus infection though! My only complaint! lol

St. Augustine is a beautiful place to get married! Sorry about the sinus infection. That sucks.

Karina | 1069 comments 3. The Book of Laughter and Forgetting by Milan Kundera

This is one of the 1001 books to read before you die, and it was fine. A collection of short stories. I liked the first 5 stories and didn’t care for the last two.

Three stars

Karina | 1069 comments 4. Goodbye, Paris by Anstey Harris

This was a cute story. Box 1/3 from my August Book of the Month box. This book is great for a book club.

You had me at Agatha Christie .... I may or may not have read ALL of her books as a teen ... well, all that were translated into German at that time.

message 16: by Karina (new)

Karina | 1069 comments I have read all of the Miss Marple series and I have two more left in the Poirot series, and I have purposely been taking my time because I don't want it to end!

Yes, they are beautiful states! I don't have much to compare them with though, I've only been to the New England states, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Florida, Nevada (well, Las Vegas), and Hawaii! Besides driving through states. I would love to travel my own country more! We're actually setting up a New Orleans trip for this April.

New Orleans is lovely. Stay away from Bourbon Street - it's just touristy ;)

You should start doing day trips to your surrounding states :) Drive the Kancamagus and just keep going to Vermont :)

I really enjoyed this book and have been wanting to read it for a while and my book club for the month of February allowed me the opportunity to take this off my tbr shelf. Loved it so much. Made me laugh, made me cry. It was fantastic.

Karina | 1069 comments 9. The Library Book by Susan Orlean

I enjoyed the book for about three quarters but it dragged for me the last quarter. It took me a long time to read which in part because work has been brutal with me working long hours and weekends but because I would read a chapter and it didn’t compel me to keep reading!

I need a nice palette cleanser so I decided to read the second to last Poirot book. This was not one of her best books and I figured out the plot twist rather quickly.

Karina | 1069 comments 12. The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

I read this one because it was Reese Witherspoon’s February pick and luckily I had chosen it for one of my books in my November Book of the Month box though it pains me when I read my boxes out of order! This book was cute and a fast read. A diverse, romance novel.

Karina | 1069 comments 16. This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I had no idea this was his first novel and it was published when he was 23. The entitlement of the main character in this book kills me. I’m glad I read it and I also own his second published novel, The Beautiful and the Damned but not sure if I will get to that this year.

I really enjoyed this book but had so many books I was reading in between but was able to make a push the last three days to finish. I like historical fiction and rags to riches (kind of) story set in Brazil. This is Book 2/3 from my AUGUST book of the month box.
