This is my first Holly Black novel. I’ve mentioned it on here before, but I struggle with reading fantasy. I’ve also never read a book about fae. But reading this book fulfills two of my reading goals this year: 1) read more fantasy and 2) read more book club books. This book has also been rated highly by many of my friends, so think it will be a good fantasy book to try!
I loved this book when I read it last year. I can be really iffy on fae/faerie stories, too. I'm absolutely planning on reading it again for book club!

The author returns to a subject she's done several times in different series--the fair folk. The Cruel Prince is the first in a new series, and was nominated for the 2018 Goodreads Choice Award for Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction.
