For our April 2019 book club pick, the staff chose to feature What If It's Us, brought to you by two fairly recent but big-time authors, Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli.

Between both authors, they have five nominees for Goodreads Choice Awards, and Albertalli's Leah on the Offbeat won the 2018 Goodreads Choice Awards for Young Adult Fiction.

In What if It's Us, two boys meet one another, and with Broadway in the background, it could become a love story of the ages.

What do you think about the book for this month? Have you read any of the previous books by either author?

Christine | 142 comments I am excited about reading and discussing this book! This was the fourth book for both Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. Albertalli is one of my favorite authors. I have read all four of her books at least once. I’ve only read three of Silvera’s books. Even though What If It's Us debuted in October, I received an advanced reader copy and read it last May. So I’ll probably re-read it right after I read my final Silvera book, History Is All You Left Me!

Kimberly (whatkreads) I recently just read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda so I was excited to see this on the list. I picked it up at the library and I’m really enjoying it so far!!!

Kristen | 166 comments Once again, I forgot to post my first impressions before reading the book.

Before reading this one, I hadn't read any books by Adam Silvera, and had only read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. And I have to admit that this was a book that I wasn't all that keen on picking up. It was so hyped that it actually became a little bit of a turn-off for me; books with such high expectations usually end on the lower end of the rating scale for me, and I was worried that would be the case (it kinda was?)
