Andrea Cox (andreacox) What's everyone's choice of beverage when reading?

I prefer hot cocoa this time of year, but lately I've been craving Simply Orange OJ. I'm hoping to get back to my cocoa stash before we get too far into this month.

Thanks, Andrea! I enjoy tea most, though I do love a good cup of hot chocolate!

message 4: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) Do you have a favorite brand or flavor (or both) of tea?

message 5: by Kellyn (new)

Kellyn Roth (kellynrothauthor) | 18 comments Mod
I couldn't pick a favorite! I'll have coffee or pop or tea or milk ...

message 6: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) Quite a selection!

message 7: by R.A. (new)

R.A. | 23 comments Yeahh, hot, black Tetley tea with milk is great! :D

message 8: by Joleen (new)

Joleen Irish Breakfast tea is my go to. Also, I haven’t seen Good Earth Tea in forever ☹️ so I’ve gone back to Constant Comment.

Ellen Hamilton | 56 comments Turtles Hot Chocolate is my favourite... but now I've also started drinking Earl Grey Tea flavoured with bergamot and it is heavenly ☕

Earl Gray is my favorite flavor, but I can't drink black tea. I wish I could get that flavor in green tea.

message 11: by Anna (new)

Anna | 61 comments I love a mixture of coffees: chocolate fudge and toasted pecan. Put them together and add some yummy cream and it's a taste to mellow you out. My favorite on Saturday mornings when I can relax and read.

Mmm, that sounds amazing!! :D

Ellen: how do you add the bergamot flavor? The actual fruit, essential oil, some other flavoring?

message 14: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 181 comments Mod
Earl Grey is flavored with bergamot. Depends on the brand whether the flavor is natural or artificial.

message 15: by Hanna (new)

Hanna | 41 comments I don't have time for a drink when I'm reading. :P I barely take the time to find a comfortable position.

message 16: by Jane (new)

Jane | 20 comments I usually like a strong Irish or English breakfast tea with lots of real cream and sugar (with a nice bit of shortbread on the side!!). Around this time of year I also drink a lot of hot Russian Tea, mainly because it's nostalgic and reminds me of childhood Christmases in North Carolina. Although, for the past two weeks I've had a terrible respiratory infection and I'm craving anything cold, like orange juice (like Andrea has been craving!) or sweet iced tea.

message 17: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) OJ for the win! I hope you feel better soon, Jane!

message 18: by Joleen (new)

Joleen Two weeks!?!! Man!
OJ and chicken soup! Praying.

Jane | 20 comments Thanks, y'all !!

message 20: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 33 comments Coffee/tea or now in summer water.

Sometimes I will curl up with a good glass of wine and chocolates (but I think this happened pre baby days).

Now my reading happens on my kindle in the dark next to my son to get him to sleep.

Saaaaame!!!!! In theory, I love the idea of curling up with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate, but in practice--nope. I get so engrossed in the book that I literally have to put it down to make myself do anything else, including taking a drink. :)

Also, I tend to end up in whatever position I was in when I happened to crack the book open, comfortable or not! :D

What Hannah said below. The company I drink is Twinnings. It comes already flavoured

I'm not a fan of black tea either. But give me Earl Grey, and I'll drink it in a jiffy

Pretty much. ;) When I want to read a book, I want to read a book. No time for finding a comfortable position. :P

message 27: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) Goodness! I hope our little dehydrated folks will schedule in some moments to snag a drink!

message 28: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 33 comments ok, do you have a favourite spot where you like to sit and read?

message 29: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) My recliner, usually with a throw blanket tossed over my lap (or just my feet, depending on how chilly I am at the time).

message 30: by Anna (new)

Anna | 61 comments Sometimes the recliner, with a cat on my lap. Other times, at my computer desk because I have really good light. I also read in my car at lunch time because I can't go home (it's too far from work).

message 31: by Kaitlyn (new)

Kaitlyn S. | 28 comments Hmm...I'm late to this discussion, but I'll say my favourite place to read is in the hammock swing my parents gave me for my birthday last year. I like to bring out a blanket and pillows and read in comfortable silence, with a bag of coffee nut m&m' S. Or a cup of coffee =)

Oh, those coffee nut M&Ms are great, aren't they? I haven't seen any around here lately.

Marlene | 18 comments Andrea wrote: "What's everyone's choice of beverage when reading?"

My favorite is hot chocolate, but I've cut that out (for now) because of finances and because of my waistline! However, I will say that the Land-O-Lakes hot chocolate is sooooooo good! My grocery store carries them in single serve packs during the holidays, but not the rest of the year,

In general, I drink tea. Black tea. English breakfast and Ahmed Apricot. But mostly, I drink whatever regular black tea is in the 100 packs I can get at the grocery store. And sipping tea helps keep me awake.

message 34: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) All of those sound lovely, Marlene!

message 35: by Paula (new)

Paula Shreckhise Hey Joleen and Jane! My favorite is Irish Breakfast Tea. We buy it loose in bulk from Coffee Bean Direct or Tattle Tea on Amazon. Then we got some diffusers or tea balls to put the loose tea in. I gave at least one cup in the a.m. then switch to decaf black after noon. Summer I might do iced tea.

Marlene | 18 comments Paula wrote: "...at least one cup in the a.m. then switch to decaf black after noon. ."

I drink many cups of black tea everyday. I even drink it as part of my "midnight" snack. I still don't have any troubles going to sleep!

Irish Breakfast is lovely. :-) Today, I went to Tim Horton's because I was out and about after fasting for 12 hours for a blood work-up, and thus hadn't had any tea yet. The tea bag they gave me was orange pekoe, so apparently, I really like that one also! :-) I like most (non-spicy) black teas, really. But I can't stand Earl Grey!
