Of course, it doesn't need to be one of the old classic CYOA books. There are many modern takes on the form, some decidedly not for the kiddies. I got a kick out of My Lady's Choosing: An Interactive Romance Novel, and Neil Patrick Harris's autobiography is delightful.

A copy of the original CYOA #1, The Cave of Time, did recently come into my possession, though, so I have to read that one.

I did read The Cave of Time and even remembered a few of the scenes from whenever I read it back in the '80s. This was an amusing little trip through time in more ways than one.

Mary Arkless | 153 comments I read “Edinburgh Castle” by Matt Doeden. This book is very like the CYOA I read as a kid, but it includes facts from the history of Edinburgh and its castle. Like I did as a kid, I explored all the options. Quick and fun read, takes me back to my childhood. Borrowed from the library.
