KelsieH6 Ada has a crippled leg and her mom believes that she should be neglected and stuck in the house because of it. Her brother Jamie gets to leave the house, and Ada very protective over Jamie.Hitler's bombing is going to happen so Jamie's school says there taking all of the children into a different town. Jamie is leaving and Ada decides she's going with him. It's A difficult task but they make it and that's when they meet their new caregiver Susan.

I think the conflict in this book is Ada overcoming what her mom had put into her head. That she will never be good enough because of her leg. When they meet Susan its very hard for Jamie and Ada because Jamie wants to go home and Ada scared of almost everything she does wrong. Her mom made her feel like everything she did was wrong so we watch her overcome that.

By the end of the book i think we watched them change and become more comfortable. This book was confusing and at times i feel like didn't explain things very well. I liked it though. I really liked that they showed Ada overcoming her fears and becoming more comfortable with herself and others. I think Susan really helped her and if she wouldnt have been there she might not have been able to overcome it.
