Bron (bron23) | 69 comments First one down! Still Alice by Lisa Genova. I loved this book and give it 4 stars. I have read a few other books of Genova's and have enjoyed them all. She writes quite insightfully of the experience of having neurological illnesses. I know she has a PHD in Neuroscience, however this is clearly complimented by her compassionate understanding of what it is like to live with the illnesses rather than having just a medical take on them.

Bron (bron23) | 69 comments I finally got back to this challenge. I read The Color Purple by Alice Walker. This was a great book, though pretty gritty, especially in the first chunk of the book. Having seen the movie years ago (which I thought was very good) I was surprised by how much there was in the book about Nettie in Africa but loved the use of the letters between the two. Heartbreaking story, beautifully executed.

lee_readsbooks (httpgoodreadscomleeandersonn) I still need to read The Diary Of Anne Frank & The Color Purple!
