Book Club for Introverts discussion

This book has chapter names rather than numbered chapters so look for the chapter names in the topic. I'll be grouping 3-4 chapters together in each topic.

They are born with their own hearts and they cannot be made otherwise, no matter what love a man lavishes on them.” Armstrong thought he could love Robin enough to make him come around to the straight an narrow. Nash thought he could convince him to join him when he realized they were so much alike. Robin thought he was Lord Embry’s Son and was owed something. Would it have been different if he knew the truth from his childhood? I wonder where the girl is... will she disappear back into the river from whence she came?

I don't know that knowing from childhood would have made a difference. Robin seemed to lack a moral compass no matter what the Armstrongs did for him or how much they loved him. It's a sad reflection of real-life. Sometimes parents do all the right things yet it's never enough for the adult child.

So many interesting things going on in this chapter..... Of course there's the Mr. Armstrong vs. Robin vs. Victor episode, but there were other important things going on that I think will play a part in the final chapters. Helena's baby is being born one year after the girl and Daunt appeared at the inn, not to mention the baby being born in the water sack. Also the passing of Joe will be symbolic, as life and death both appear on this significant evening.
