I really liked this too. The movie was slightly disappointing in comparison, though there were some great action sequences and the industrial-style effects were good.
This sounds interesting. What did London look like in the future? Good review.
I think it is a middle school/YA book, so it is a very fast read and pretty light. London is mobile, as most towns and cities are. London is on wheels or tracks and has 6 tiers. The towns and cities eat each other.
I really enjoyed the movie. I was sad to hear that it has made a loss as it was nice to see something a bit more original amongst all the remakes, reboots and sequels.

Over the past couple of months I was sitting with my mom and husband and saw the movie previews for Mortal Engines and thought it sounded like such a cool story... I immediately checked and saw that it was book.
It was such a fun and easy read! Action from the very first page. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably pick of the rest of the series at some point. It has a couple of lessons in it's pages as it follows several teenagers through the story of London in the future.
