Just like she planed, Vee ended up going to the ball with the intention of meeting up with Casper. She had told her parents she would be going with a date, and they were beyond happy to hear that their daughter would be doing normal teenager stuff rather than lock herself in the room like she normally did.

So here she was, dressed in a long black off the shoulder dress with a slit on the side. Her mother insisted that they go shopping together to choose the dress, since they haven’t done anything together ever since Norman died. Vee didn’t want to say no to her, so she went out with her to the mall. She saw the joy in her moms eyes when she came out of the fitting in this dress, so she picked it. She said it was very elegant on her, especially with her short straight hair that was split down the middle and a classic red lip stick. Vee did like how she looked. She hadn’t dressed up like this since last years prom at school.

But after going into the ballroom, and being surrounded by so many people, Vee was starting to regret coming to the event. She could hear the beating heart of everyone, could smell the sweet metallic scent of their pumping blood. She knew she should have went out to feed today, but with her mom pampering her, she couldn’t. I just have to find Casper, Vee tells herself, but before she could, she went out into the hallway to get away from everyone. Her heels clicked on the marble floor once she stepped out of the room. There was a cold breeze blowing from the balcony, and the fresh air helped with carrying away the scent of the blood.

Casper was extremely nervous, though he determined on not letting that show through his cool facade. While preparing himself at home, he washed his face with cold water and stared into the mirror, watching the fanged face that stared back. He hadn't been to such a large social event since his turning. The whole ordeal made his stomach churn. And yet, he still shut the light and proceed to walk out of his house.

You got this Casper, you're in control. He thought to himself before he opened the huge doors that led to the lobby. Briskly strolling in, he scanned the crowd.

He was, of course, looking for his unexpectedly new friend Vee, who told him that she would meet him there. He'd seen some familiar faces, some who waved, others who simply stared -- surprised by the mere fact that Casper Grey, the man most haven't seen in person since 2015 was striding in like nothing ever happened. He passed by them without a word and continued to the hallway where he spotted Vee with her back turned, seemingly lost.

"You clean up nicely." He offered, with a white-toothed smile.

Vee heard a familiar voice and quickly turned around to find Casper standing behind her smiling. Hearing what he said, she couldn’t help but give a small smile herself, knowing very well he was comparing her to when she had blood all over her. “Thanks,” she said as she gazed over him, finding him dressed up a bit, but slightly different from the other guests. “You like nice too.”

Finally having him by her side, Vee actually felt better. She was getting so worked up and so afraid of being alone with these many people around her, that she thought she was actually going to lose control. But with him here, hopefully, that wouldn’t help. “You have no idea how happy I am to see you.” She admits as she moved closer to him, her eyes looking around the hallway to see if there was anyone near them listening. “I seriously thought I was going to attack someone. Everyone is so close, and the hearts are so loud.” She swallows at the thought before looking up to him with her worried eyes. “Please take care of me,” she begs him, seeming vulnerable.

The last thing Vee wanted was having another death on her hands, especially in front of an event like this.

Astric Clairek wasn't sure about this ball but really couldn't help the fact that she got an invitation. She just got to Warwick two weeks ago and honestly was still kind of a lone wolf so to speak but eyes had followed her since the moment she walked in. She was wearing a dress that was slightly above her knees and she wore heels that made her 5'4" self 5'6". She walked through the long hall that reminded her of the hall from Stephen King's Shining the only difference was the endless hall was black and white tiles rather than carpet. She looked up and saw a guy noticed he was counting to himself as he walked. "Be careful if you keep going you might walk into a wall and you don't necessarily look like a ghost." She said with a smile on her voice.

Astrid watched Callum carefully as he strode over to her. "Nice to meet someone with an interesting name who actually wants to talk to me." She smiled and could hear the number in the distance get a little bit louder. "I can show you to the big crowd of people who have a staring problem." she chuckled as she continued. "My name is Astrid Clairek." She took his hand gently in hers and gave him a firm shake.

Astrid listened to the guy talking a lot. I've never met a guy that babbles more than anyone I've ever met. She thought but she didn't mind it because she enjoyed listening. She let go of his hand and lead him the direction that she heard the music in the distance. She was quiet and listening to him not wanting to interrupt him unless he asked her something. She took a deep breath and waited for him for him to finish what he was saying. "Well you don't look like a hopeless case but it's understandable how people who drink can get lost in this place. I'm sober and if it wasn't for my memory of where I came from I'd be lost myself." She turned around and looked at him. "Did you at least come here with friends or a date?" She wondered out loud.

"To be honest, I don't have a date. I don't really know many people here. I just moved here two weeks ago. I don't have any friends and I don't have any living family." She answered quietly because she didn't want everyone to know that she was new and had no one. "Please don't feel sorry for me." She said as they walked toward the end of the hall which had a turn into another hall.

"You sure like to talk a lot." She giggled after hearing all the things that he had said. She found what looked like the stairs and could hear the music. "I listen to just about anything I can get my hands on. I prefer the Scorpions and Great White but people tend to look at me funny when I say that I like them." She was honest with him and shook her head. "Don't judge a girl by her looks it's just as bad as judging a book by its cover." She pointed out the stairs and walked over and grabbed the railing to head down the step.

((Next post on the dance floor?))

@fayza (sorry!)

Casper offered her a warm smile that contrasted the coolness of his body temperature as he lightly placed a pale hand on her arm, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Vee reminded him of all the people he’s left behind, the relief in her eyes only giving him comfort that there was at least one person on the planet who still can view him as more than a monster. He was there to help, and being a helper was benefitting Casper more than Vee could ever know. He was useful not dangerous, he was a mentor not a monster.

He released his hand, instead moving closer to give her comfort as regular humans brushed past them, offering excuse me’s as apologies for being so rough. He could smell each and every living being in the hallway and he could tell Vee could too. The only difference is that he knew how to block the urges out, and maintain his composure. He wasn’t too sure about Vee. “I know, I’m guessing that all these people are temptations to you, and it’s hard to resist the urge. But you must.” He held his hands behind his back as he continued to lead them forward. Casually leaning down to whisper in her ear, cautious of however could be listening he breathed “You’re not going to attack anyone tonight, I promise.” And with that he straightened with a smile to the other guests who had no idea of what Vee and Casper were talking about, greeting whoever shared eye contact with him.

A relieved smile appeared on her lips as he assures her that she wouldn’t hurt anyone today. His touch, proximity, and hushed words comforted her. He’s been a vampire much longer than she has, so he knew what he was doing. As long as she listens to him, then everything would be okay, even if he was right about how the passing humans were very tempting to her. She actually had to hold her breath- even though she didn’t need to breathe- as to not pick up on their scents.

“Let’s go in, I need a distraction.” Vee finally said, letting go of any worry. “Since your above age, your getting me alcohol.” The young girl looked up to him with a smirk as they started to walk. She just wanted to let loose and actually have fun.

@max

So maybe his brother was right. Maybe he did need to be laid. He wouldn’t tell his brother he was right though, because he would just rub it in his face. He would keep this little hook up to himself, especially since the guy was still a minor. So he gave into the heat of things, feeling Luke take lead. He normally didn’t like to be submissive, but sometimes he would give in. He was clueless to the guys true kind. It didn’t come to his mind to check. Instead, he just followed him out of the balcony and to someplace with more privacy, and what was more iconic than a closet. After being pushed in, he pulled Luke in after him for more contact, making sure he closed the door first.

Luke pressed against Troy, kissing him hard. The closet was small but it was clean and there was enough space for them to fit comfortably. More than two people and it would be a bit of a squish but with just him and Troy they were fine. He kissed the man on the lips again and then kissed his jaw and then continued down towards his neck until he was right at the space where his neck and shoulder met. He used to love hickeys. Who knows why? It was just always something he did when he was making out with someone. Now though, hickeys weren't just a romantic thing for him. They were a temptation. He found himself almost magically drawn to that spot where blood pumps so closely beneath the skin. It wasn't romantic the way he thought about it though, now it was just plain strange. He didn't quite understand the complications of being a vampire and while he thought that he had his blood urges under control, he was very wrong. He underestimated the strength of vampire blood-lust.

So, it was completely unexpected when he suddenly became aware that he had no control when he found his teeth suddenly sharp and pressed against Troy's skin. He didn't even remember any thoughts about blood going through his head and yet here he was about to bite Troy and he couldn't stop it.
