My first book of the year was The Storm Crow that is scheduled to come out in July 2019. I got an ARC in my Fairyloot crate.
Unfortunately, I was severely underwhelmed by the plot and the characters overall, so it was only a 2-star read for me. I did, however, enjoy the opening chapters very much. The writing style in them was beautiful. Anyway, it was a quick read and didn't plunge me into a reading slump, so hooray to that!
Just a heads up. My nomination for the March BOM is a new book for 2019. I really don't know anything about it but Virginie says the first chapters are on TOR.com

Thanks! Will take a look.

Yeah, I think my second reading focus will help with that as I clear out some books that have been waiting for more than a year to get my attention... I seriously have a book buying problem, even though it's pretty dialed down on account of my spending restrictions. Ha!

Reading Focus #1: Read 5 New Releases from 2019
For this one no 2nd books in a series or any continuations will count. I want to read some fresh new fantasy.
What's on my radar? So glad you asked.
Spin the Dawn
Blood Heir
The Gilded Wolves
We Hunt the Flame
Wicked Saints
Descendant of the Crane
The Priory of the Orange Tree
... and several others, but those are in my top.
Reading Focus #2: Read 3 Fantasy books that have been on my TBR for longer than 1 year. I think it would be helpful to make sure I don't forget how many amazing books are just waiting for me to remember them....
