As of now, we have four teams. Team lists will be out by the end of the week. Here are the names of the teams.













• The first two weeks will actually not have any mini-challenges, which means you get to read any book you want and cash in those books. Even as the mini-challenges begin, you are still free to cash in other books that are not part of the mini-challenges.
• The Book Maze mini-challenge has been changed to a BINGO Challenge. The blocks will be kept simple and with a wide range of books so that it is easier to finish.
• There is no fixed duration for any of the mini-challenges. Team captains can ask for the challenge they want after the first two weeks, and the next challenge will be given only after the completion of the first.

If you have any queries, feel free to ask them either inside the group, or via private message. You can also discuss here.

Captains are mainly appointed to motivate the members in their teams and update points. Here are some important announcements for captains:

• A separate thread will be put up only for points.
• Please reserve 4 posts in the beginning of your team's points thread. These are to update the total points.
• Mark the first post for points obtains through free reading. The points system will be posted in each team thread, but if you want to post it again, feel free to do so.
• Mark the second post for BINGO. Points will be decided according to the rules here. Please post your BINGO card here when you receive it so that it is easily accessable.
• The third post will be for the Book Pool, and points will be tallied here accordingly.
• The fourth post will be for Spell-the-Word. Please post the word here and update the points as given here.
• You are not expected to update the points as soon as someone finishes a book, but try to update as frequently as possible. Once a week would suffice.
• If anyone has not checked in yet, you can either PM them directly, or let me know.

How to cash in points: This can be done by the participants of each team.

Can the books read in the 2 weeks before mini challenges count toward them? Like can we fill Bingo board with books we read before the board is given as long as it was read in Feb? Same for Spell the word, and Book Pool.

Yep! Once you finish the first one, you get to choose the second - basically, do it at your own pace within six weeks ;P

Also, the link for Spell the word doesn't work, Hallie. Some error perhaps.

If we do them simultaneously will we only get six weeks all together or do we get more time if we the them individually?

Just in case my question doesn't make sense:
6 wks per game if individual or 6 wks total if together?

6 weeks total irrespective of whether you do them individually or together.

If we have already re-read a book, but we have a separate book that would also be a re-read but it would fill in, say a letter from the Spell-the-Word challenge, would it be able to count for that even if we don't get page credit?

(I really hope that made sense lol)

One re-read is allowed per member, excluding the BINGO, so you can use one re-read to count :)

Did you mean that if a book counts for Bingo, can it also be used for Spell-the-word? If yes, then yes it can be used in completing both (or even in all 2 challenges, but the points given for number of pages read will be given only once).

Per member? Can you elaborate please?

Each member of your team gets to reread one book. If your BINGO card has a re-read requirement, then only the person who actually accomplishes it gets two rereads - one for the BINGO, and another for a different challenge if necessary.

Hallie: Remember my old question? Mari just posted an update and I added it in Free Reading like other reads. Also, I updated it in Bingo like this along with the other books previously read that fit the blocks. So, the points for pages read are accounted for (in Free Reading) and Bingo points will be accounted for when we complete a line without having to add points for pages in Bingo thread as per my original question.

(I know, I know, confusing right?) It's alright if you don't understand this messed up comment but if you do, then I hope you see that everything will be accounted for and if it's easy for you to follow.

I'm sorry but I do not understand. So for example, Jess re-reads a book that fills the block, then only she can re-read another book? Regardless of the mini-challenges, we are all allowed to re-read one book? Say, if I read 2 books (that I have read before), and both are more than 100 pages, I can only get points for one?

In response to your first comment, it would actually be ideal if you didn't add it in free reading, because free reading is well - free reading. Not bound to any mini-challenges. I think I messed up while explaining even you asked the question, but what I meant was you don't have to put it in free reading; just under BINGO.

ETA: For books that you previously accounted for free reading, you don't have to touch those, but those in the future, I'd appreciate if those were under BINGO.

Yes. Jess will get points for both the book she read for BINGO and the one she reads for a different challenge, or perhaps free reading, whereas only one book that you reread will count to the entire challenge.

I'll just remove them from free-reading and add them to Bingo. But the only problem is that if I add a book in Bingo and it also qualifies for Spell-the-word then I'll get double points for pages, so that's alright?

Technically, I wasn't going to allow the same book to be qualified for multiple mini-challenges, but then I changed my mind, so I decided to ignore the loophole.

Well good for us, lol. Double points :)

I guess that's why I added it in Free Reading to avoid it.

A few questions.

In Bingo, we have a "Random Book" square. What classifies as a random book?

If I have a book that qualifies for 2 mini-challenges. Do I count the page count once and the point count twice?

What if I have a mini-challenge book that was a Buddy Read. How do the points tally for that?

In Bingo, we have a "3.75 Rating" square. Is that atleast a rating of that, or exact?

If we read more than 5 books from Book Pool can we continue to tally the points?

1. Literally any random book qualifies as a random book. It's basically a free read, so you can use any book for it.

2. Twice :)

3. You get points of the mini-challenge + the extra points for Buddy reading. I'll give you an example later if that doesn't make sense.

4. I'm sorry. I just have forgotten to mention. It's at least.

5. Well, technically the challenge is completed as soon as you finish 5 books, but if you do continue to read more books, you will get extra points and pages points the same way as free reading.
