Donna | 95 comments Hi, Elizabeth. Since I had not began the Harmony series yet when you announced it as a readalong, I decided to start with this prequel and will be playing catch-up for the next few months for the other volumes. But that is okay since the journey and not the destination is most important. Not to drop any spoilers, I will say that this book is a fulfilling read for that part of us that likes to build things from the ground up (literally and figuratively in this case). Three families build a town, a good town, in response to a dream that one person had been compelled to act upon. I will also say that one scene of resolution at the end of the book brought immediate tears to my eyes.

Donna | 95 comments Oh, I want to add that Jodi Thomas is the featured romance writer for the month of January on the RRRCs (Romance Readers Reading Challenge) on Goodreads. I read this prequel for challenge (1) as Jodi's name begins with "J" (for January), and will be reading Welcome to Harmony for challenge (3) as the featured author. Plus, of course, the Harmony series is included on one of my Steeped in Books/Stack the Series lists. Yay, Jodi!

Elizabeth Meadows (lizziefaye) | 424 comments That's great that Jodi Thomas is the featured author this month. I have been reading a lot of her books over the past several months and she is quickly becoming a favorite.
I'm glad that you enjoyed A Place Called Harmony. Each of the books so far has mentioned the town's founding fathers. Their descendants are the core of the community in the contemporary stories. I hope you will enjoy those too.

Donna | 95 comments Yes, I know I will and am so glad that I have this background for the founding families as a read forward through the series. The things that all of our ancestors had to go through for any of us to be here is the over arching thought that this prequel provokes.
