I have finished the book and think it is an ok read.Definitely liked the fact that it was placed in Edinburgh and have been visiting Edinburgh quite a few times and been down to Mary King's Close made it better.
The charackters are a bit flat. Maybe that get's better in the following books?
But I really didn't like that Jock waited a whole night for Joey to wake up? Wasn't maybe Bracha telling him to do so,or he would kill Joey as well? Otherwise this would be a very uncharackteric Jock move really.
That Zombie Edinburgh had become a TV show was already pages before indicated and that Fraser is Joey's father was so obvious that is really didn't need the epilog.
Even though my comments seems harsh I think everyone who likes a light read about Zombies and dystopian Edinburgh, will enjoy the book.
2.5 Thought it was fine but not particularly memorable. Like Carmen, I thought the characters were a tad on the two dimensional side and some of the choices they made were a bit off.Had other personal bugbears with it, but I suspect I probably would have enjoyed Deadinburgh when I was younger.

That was also one of my thoughts, a younger me would have probably liked the book better because I would have questions less of the things described.
Am not too far in but it's ok so far. I'm slightly confused at the moment if this is a YA book, given both protagonists are teens? It also reminds me of Mira Grant's Newsfeed trilogy, which I really enjoyed, so this is currently suffering in comparison at the moment. I hope it will pick up now that Joey has been exiled from the Brotherhood...
It took me a while to get into this but once I tried to think a bit more like a teenage girl and not 40 year woman, I enjoyed it. I did keep falling in and out of love with the characters sometimes I was rooting for them and other times I wished the zoms would bite them. Having said that I was glad that Joey survived even after being bitten. My favourite character, and I thought the best written one, was Bracha.
