When Lee Siyeon and Jeon Minhyun, former Hogwarts students from Slytherin, found out they were having a child, they were thrilled to raise a future princess of Slytherin. After all, not only had they been Slytherins, but so had their parents and siblings, and so on and so forth. The day that eleven year old Jeon Chaewon had to force herself to send a letter to her parents, informing them that she was sorted into Hufflepuff, was one of the worst days of her life.
Her sorting had truly come as a surprise to her family, so much so that her parents didn't bother to send her a letter in return. Though she was practically disowned by her family, Chaewon easily learned that Hufflepuff was where she was meant to be, and adapted easily to life at Hogwarts. It was evident that she belonged in Hufflepuff with the way she carried herself, her demeanor one of innocence and genuine kindness and her smile shining through even the darkest of clouds. Though easy to manipulate and overly sensitive, she is still young and has plenty to learn and plenty more time to grow, or so she hopes.
Yet there was a period of time where Chaewon failed to find her place in the social hierarchy. She didn't have as many friends as she liked, and she didn't have the sense of assertiveness one needed to be involved in more clubs and student groups. She found her solace in Herbology. When not doing her studies, Chaewon is cooped up in the corner of her bed with her nose buried into textbooks upon textbooks about the subject.

Lily Evans really seems to have it all together. Everybody knew she would be named Gryffindor prefect her fifth year: she's got the grades, the disciplinary record, theoverachieverdiligent personality, and the relationship with professors to guarantee her spot. But honestly, besides the academic record, Lily's life is a complete mess.
First it's her mates. After a particularly nasty argument with her childhood best friend at the end of fifth year, Lily was absolutely devastated. Even when he tried to make it Potter's fault, which she usually agreed with, his insult went too far. She cried for days before finally wiping off her tears and see things for what they were. He wasn't Sev anymore, he was a Death Eater. She found refuge with her Gryffindor dorm mates, the ones who had warned her about Severus and she didn't want to listen. She had the tiny hope in a corner of her heart that all that Sev was going to wake up one day and realize how utterly wrong his mates were. But she could not give any more excuses for him. If he thought nothing of her but her blood, he was better off with his supremacist mates.
The next issue, not as emotionally scarring but equally as stressful, was her marks. If you asked anyone, Lily Evans would be the last person to have to worry about her marks, and for the most part that was true. She pretty much excels at every course. Except for Transfiguration. She barely passed her O.W.L. with an Acceptable and had to appeal to continue taking the class her sixth year. She knows how important the subject is for a variety of jobs, and if she could just get the knowledge to her brain, like with all other subjects, she'd stop worrying. But meanwhile, there's nothing to do but stress and cram.
Lily'sgenerallykind and calm, still a little sassy, but she still gets particularly upset with bullies and other intolerable sorts. Those people get the Evans special Bat-Bogey Hex. She's a prefect, so she can't really go around hexing people, but when detention and taking off points isn't enough, she can't just stay with crossed arms.
And it's this particular need to do something that brings us to her last problem. In this case, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Lily reads the Daily Prophet every day praying to whatever forces of the universe that she doesn't turn to see the count of Muggle deaths to find her family. Lily worries constantly about her parents, and even her sister Petunia, who has officially refused to talk to her since last year. The growing fear and uncertainty that sits in her stomach is making her edgy. People, both wizards and muggles, are dying every day for the Dark Lord's cause. She can't stay cooped up in the castle, pretending everything is fine. It's not. And she doesn't know what yet, but she knows she has to do something.

Characterized by her beautiful smile and her sense of responsibility, Marlene could be the kind of girl that you look at and think, "I want to be like her." However, she's also the kind of girl that looks at others and wishes for the same thing. Born as the third child of four, Marlene has always been hidden in the shadows of her two elder siblings, both who had been successful Hogwarts students and acquired jobs in the Ministry and as aurors. On the other hand, her younger sister takes the majority of her parents' attention.
Yearning to be more than what her siblings were, Marlene held a dream of becoming a Gryffindor. Gryffindors were courageous and spontaneous, and nobody in her family had ever been sorted into that house. She learned quickly, however, that Ravenclaw was where she was meant to be. No one other than a Ravenclaw would spend hours reading from a textbook that had no correlation to her homework, or spend hours sitting by a window, with her head held in her palm and her thoughts far off in a whimsical daydream about all things logical and cognitive.
It's safe to say that though she has knowledge beyond her years and nearly stellar grades, Marlene is rather dumb. For starters, if her head wasn't screwed to her neck, she'd most definitely lose it. She's the kind of student to be working on her homework an hour before class or during breakfast, all because she got caught up in a book or fell asleep, and still earn good marks. She's the kind of student to fall down the stairs or bump into a wall, all because her focus was elsewhere. Marlene is what you would call a disaster, yet she manages to hold her own.
For the most part, at least. There's a certain boy with black hair that curls around his ears and a pink tint to his lips that clouds her thoughts when she least expects it. Regulus Black was once merely a close friend to her, and she still holds her friendship with him dear to her heart. However, his recent acquaintanceships with Death Eaters have brought a strain to their friendship (oh, how she wishes it was more), and Marlene fears Regulus will make the wrong decision in terms of his loyalty. While she herself has slowly begun to associate herself with the Order of the Phoenix, her biggest concern continues to be trying to persuade him to be more than the path his parents laid out for him — to be something good.

He's ambitious in precisely one way, and that's to adopt or befriend every single member of his house and as many of the other houses' members as possible; he's brave like other Hufflepuffs, not in the reckless way of Gryffindors; he's clever enough to analyse other teams' playing methods and disrupt them with bludgers; and he is endlessly loyal. He's also quite unusual.
Eric's wand is one of the rarest combinations out there: acacia, which is unusual enough, combined with a phoenix feather core. Even Ollivander was surprised when that wand finally worked for Eric (they had, at this point, exhausted a good half the shop). Now consider that he was a Hatstall (although that's possibly because he forced the Sorting Hat to explain its reasoning behind each of the options... oops?) and that despite his pretty awful attendance record (due to often being in the hospital wing either for himself or for other people) he got high grades in his OWLs. Honestly, even Eric doesn't entirely understand himself. He's something of a troublemaker, but in classes that he enjoys he keeps his head down and gets his work done; he's messy and disorganised but he makes perfect potions and never misses a Quidditch practice. He's a living juxtaposition.
The son of a Squib and a witch, Eric grew up in a small magical town in southern Scotland. Most of his friends came to Hogwarts, but they were in different years and houses — which might have stopped any normal person, but Eric pursues and maintains friendships with an intensity that most people can't achieve about anything. To this day, they remain friends, although he's added several dozen more people to that collection.

Heidi Annalise Fernanda Watson II is not someone who values trial and error. There simply is no such thing as an error in her world. Raised under the Watson family tree's watchful eye, everything was meticulously planned out for her. Be selected into the House of Slytherin (check), become top of her class (check), become prefect (well she did a bit better than that). As a Watson, she was born under strict jurisdiction which is what she flaunts now as a 7th year. No crossing boundaries, no breaking rules and absolutely no mistakes. Mistakes make you weak. Those are the only codes Heidi lives by, so be very very aware. Not that she tries to be the Mussolini of Hogwarts, but her polished yet sly & passive-aggressive remarks only gives off the illusion of complete and utter control. She's mastered at least every O.W.L with flying colors, and that wasn't a result of luck - no - it's a result of hardwork.
Maybe in a perfect world, Heidi could learn to ease up. Multiple hours that she spends cramming spells, potions, and various beast information could have easily been used to step out into the fresh air and enjoy various activities. Yet the gnawing voice in the back of her mind will always tell her one thing: her family is counting on perfection. After all, without the Watson name, she would certainly fall in 2nd place in the competition for the head position.
And second place is the first to lose.

GABRIEL SANTIAGO RAMOS gryffindor's resident playboy
One would think that an attractive piece of thing like Gabriel Ramos would come with a warning label. Everything that he does, from his nonchalant smirks, to his flirtatious quips, to his sensual stares is dangerous. If the world was not cruel or unfair, one would not easily fall for the Lothario that is Gabriel Ramos. Except, the world is cruel and unfair, so it is only inevitable that people are bound to get hurt within his presence.
Neither apologetic nor humble, he reeks of bad influence and ill intentions, yet it is what makes him intriguing. If one were to withstand the alluring nature of a Veela, then they surely wouldn't be able to withstand Gabriel Ramos. Many even fall willingly, only to regret it shortly after when they realize that he lacks commitment or even the ability to care for others than himself and his pleasures. Countless of times, people have been hurt by Gabriel, but love him or hate him, there's no denying what kind of power he can hold over the masses.
At first look, you'd think him a Slytherin. His cunning and manipulative nature perfectly fits the standards laid out by Salazar Slytherin. However, it is his ability to defy the rules that essentially makes him fit for Gyffindor. Over his seven years at Hogwarts, Gabriel has cost his house tens of points due to his recklessness, and to this day, he has never found the need to apologize or own up to his mistakes. This kind of bravery is what convinced the Sorting Hat to announce Gryffindor on his first day six years ago. Gabriel fears no one's opinions of him and he has no intentions on changing who he is for someone unworthy of his time. For now, at least.

For some, their family is their safety net. For Regulus, they're his cage.
Being a part of his family isn't an easy feat. Regulus grew up with a strict set of rules that when broken resulted in painful bruises on his back. As a member of the noble House of Black, he has to carry himself with the utmost formality and decorum. He began etiquette lessons as soon as he could walk, and started to learn piano at the tender age of six. In his house it was always that, stand up straight and do as you're told, or the consequences could be grave. Regulus' older brother Sirius is only a year older than him, but from a very young age the eldest Black was...different. Regulus could not understand why his brother couldn't just do as he was told. Regulus could never. He was always the obedient little boy his mother wanted. He hoped that that would be enough to distract her and prevent her from beating his brother.
Regulus was raised in a family where blood status and heritage were the most important aspects of a person's life. As a child, he heard nothing but attacks and criticisms about muggleborns and half-bloods. He was taught that muggles were inherently inferior to witches and wizards, and that mixing with them would be an insult to his family. Everyone in his family seemed to think the same way, and so Regulus figured they must be right. Muggles and wizards were just not the same, right?
And then Sirius went to Hogwarts and was sorted in Gryffindor. From a very young age the two Black brothers were told they were Slytherin heirs. Everyone in the family had been a Slytherin, save a few shameful exceptions, and by joining Gryffindor Sirius had betrayed them. Regulus cried for days after Sirius' letter arrived home, as his mother prohibited him from writing back, saying that they should not care for him anymore. And maybe Sirius didn't care eitheror maybe Walburga Black was hiding his letters, because Regulus didn't hear from him either. This only served to fuel Regulus' conviction that his family was right. He could only trust other people like him. Wizards who mingled with muggles could only mean to betray them.
And then it was Regulus who arrived at Hogwarts. He went in Slytherin, as it was expected from the golden boy of the family. But then he began to meet other people. Some from his house, some from other houses, lots of purebloods of course but some half-bloods and by Merlin, some muggleborns as well. And the problem was, well, Regulus started to see that they're not that different from him. Differing personalities sometimes of course, but in the end, some of them turned out to be quite similar to him.
Such is the case for a tiny blonde half-blood Ravenclaw, who Regulus can't seem to get out of his head. Regulus met Marlene McKinnon in the library of all places, and against all his family's teachings began to befriend her. Talking to her came so easy to him, and Regulus didn't realize they had gotten so close until his Slytherin mates commented on the friendship.
Regulus is the perfect child. He has always been that way. But now, when people are picking sides and prejudice is running amock, he's not quite sure where he stands.

Standing at a solid 5'11, Kai is taller than most women, and standing close to even with most men. She has long, straight black hair, falling about six inches past her shoulders. Tattoos cover most of her arms and parts legs, though they're usually covered by her clothes. Kai is very much a free-spirit. She does whatever she wants without a care in the world, jumping from one thing to another. It leaves her with few long term friends, unfortunately. She doesn't care what people think of her, so while she's fun enough people want to spend time with her, she gets bored and moves on to the next, not stopping to think how it hurts them. She doesn't mean to hurt people, just doesn't think about it. She may care about people's feelings, but she certainly doesn't care about their feelings towards her. It gives her free-reign to do whatever she wants without worrying about the reactions from people. She has no interpersonal manners, though she of course follows proper table etiquette, and is completely willing to curse someone out in the middle of a store if necessary, not caring what people think. She's very much a 'devil may care' type, doing whatever she can to get her next thrill.
One of her main flaws is her selfish streak. She has a tendency to put herself first, and kind of forget that what she does affects other people. It's not that she doesn't care about people, she definitely does, she just doesn't usually take the time to think about them. Someone has to grab her and remind her of people's feelings, and then she feels bad for not thinking of them. Still, she never seems to learn her lesson. She's a bit of a player, and while she doesn't break hearts on purpose, she simply never thinks about how it affects people when she leaves after having her fun. It's perhaps tied into her inability to stay still and focus on one things for too long. Except, of course, for her tattoos. She's actually incredibly creative and artistic, surprisingly. When she sits down to work on her art, whether it's drawing a stencil or the actual tattooing, she's very good at focussing at the task at hand. Growing up, Kai always loved her parents. They were very good to her and her brother. When her powers started to develop, they accepted they would have to handle that and helped her control them. It was probably not good for a child that young to realize she had powers that strong, but by then it was of course too late. She was young, so it wasn't like it was anything drastic. It was wishing for McDonalds for supper and for her parents to play with her and to get a puppy. Her parents and older brother could survive that. They talked to her, making sure that as she grew older she knew how important it was that she be very, very careful with her powers. So she was. She wasn't exactly responsible with them, but she was always certain to make sure that what she didn't wouldn't affect anyone else.
And then her parents died. She did everything she could to wish them back, but of course powers only go so far. She was separated from her brother and put into the foster system at, all alone so suddenly. She was adopted fairly quickly, which originally she took as a blessing. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best home. There were a bunch of them there, mostly for the money they gained from the adoption. So of course, Kai used her abilities to make things better for herself, for the few other kids.
And that was her major downfall. Her new adoptive parents caught on to the fact that she had powers, and that was it for her. It started small, with helping make enough food for them, but it escalated. When her parents wanted her to start moving people out their way, Kai refused. She stuck by the principals that her real parents taught her, refusing to do it. That didn't thrill her parents. Soon she was using her powers to heal her own bruises, to hide from her parents. When she was at school, she was more relaxed, obviously less worried as she learned how to focus her powers.
Logically, she definitely could have used her abilities to save herself. But she'd always been taught to never use her abilities on anyone, and honestly she didn't think it would work. Even if it did, she wasn't able to kill anyone, or whatever would happen. It was easier to dodge a frying pan being thrown her direction than it was to deny her true parents' wishes for her. With seemingly no escape, she turned to coping. Not exactly in a healthy way either. She turned to smoking and drinking, both probably too much. She needed a distraction, so she started turning to tattoos as yet another thing. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to give herself her first one with a stolen machine while drunk, but she did it anyway.
When the boys in her class started hitting on the girls, Kai very quickly figured out which side of that she preferred to be on. She fit in with the boys well, out-tackling all of them in flag football. All her friends were boys, and she quickly combined her first-person female knowledge with their knowledge of hitting on females. It made her exceedingly dangerous to any bi-curious girls at the school, and she quickly racked up numbers higher than all her guy friends. They were jealous, of course, but not in a bad way and they all stayed friends. After all, they all thought it was hilarious when one of the teachers opened a door to find Kai with her hands down another girl's pants.
james potter might be a spoiled child. scratch that, he's definitely a spoiled child. elderly parents and no siblings, plus a very large family fortune, has left him growing up with everything he wanted. well, kind of. there was always something missing.
because for all their wealth and success, the potters have one crucial flaw in the eyes of pureblood white wizards: the colour of their skin. no matter how successful fleamont's potion-making was, the pureblood community would always look down on the family.
so james grew up with one hand on his wand and one curled into a fist, always ready to teach the bratty kids of godric's hollow a lesson should they dare to try anything. and when he got his hogwarts letter... he hoped things would be different.
but they weren't. and maybe james didn't react in the best way, and maybe he still doesn't, but he doesn't think he deserves to be called a bully for it. but anyway, a bully is a darn sight better than a racist, elitist slytherin with rather concerning ties to people who could best be described as fascist.
on a lighter note, james is best known around hogwarts for his impressive quidditch skills, which include scoring more than half the points for the gryffindor team in the previous year's competition and scoring right before being hit with a particularly vicious bludger that shattered his right wrist. he's also one of the best students when it comes to transfiguration.

philia∶∶ bellatrix black is his best friend and fiancé and he loves her more than anybody, evident in their poor attempts at flirting with each other to keep up appearances of being romantic and the fact she is the only one allowed to call him 'roddy'. he is only friends with her friends and makes little effort to expand his social circle.
eros∶∶ despite how he acts, he is a deeply romantic person. he enjoys depth in everything he does, even if the 'romance' in question is not the typical fluffy adoration most enjoy. he enjoys spending time with bella and taking her on romantic outings, although as he is exclusively homosexual it does make things a tad less exciting.
hostis∶∶ anybody less than a pureblood is no friend of rodolphus, although he is good at remaining civil even around those he detests. muggleborns are ignored at best, snidely brushed off at worst, unless bella steps in and instructs rodolphus to take it further. the only one he is quick to display easy and open contempt for is sirius black.

before she was born, yvonne’s life was already complicated. the caldwells were a family of purebloods, the finest witches and wizards for generations, their family is known for their unusual and rare patronus, and their powerful magic. each generation is one of purebloods, except for this one. her father, lin caldwell fell in love with a muggle born woman, their relationship was forbidden from the start, but they didn’t care. they were in love. the caldwells had tolerated this until they learned that they were pregnant with yvonne. lin’s family protested and demanded that they abort the baby, but yvonne’s mother would not allow it. so they gave lin an ultimatum, either he came home, or they would cut him off.
lin had been willing to stay with the loves of his life, but his wife henrietta wanted her daughter to live a good life. so they struck a deal, if henrietta left and didn’t come back ever again, they would keep lin and yvonne. begrudgingly, the caldwells accepted the deal and so baby yvonne was raised without ever knowing who her mother was. only feeling some type of shame by knowing that she was a ‘tainted’ halfblood. for the next eleven years, yvonne grew up with strict rules, and faced contempt from her grandmother and father. but the moment she stepped on the hogwarts, she felt free. she had been on her own free to make her own decisions. so while she does stay in line, you may or may not see her after curfew in the kitchen, or doing extremely dangerous broom tricks at 2 am in the morning.

Standing at about 5'3, Charlie is one of the shorter people in her year. Still, that isn't the most distinct things about her. The most noticeable would be the thick splatter of freckles across her pale face. Her nose is fairly even all the way down, not tapering out quite as much as is average. It's framed by slightly almond shaped eyes, a warm honey brown color. Her long, bright ginger hair falls down about five or six inches past her shoulder when it's down, though usually it's thrown back in a braid or messy bun to get it out of the way. Despite being short and slender, she's stronger than you would suspect. She's not ripped, it's not outwardly visible, but she has done physical work. Her shoulders are broader than expected for her build, however it's difficult to tell. Generally she prefers to wear plain sweatshirts, or when it's warmer plain tanktops. It's obvious from even brief interactions that Charlie is incredibly smart. It's not that she likes to brag, she just simply doesn't consider that people don't know what she does. She doesn't consider herself smarter than other people, she just forgets that not everyone is as smart as her. So she tends to get frustrated when people don't understand what she's talking about. She has no patience, leading to a short fuse where she easily snaps at people, frustrated that they just don't get what is to her, so obvious.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Despite her intelligence, Charlie has a streak of childishness about her. She tends to trust people too easily and too much, which eventually will lead her into trouble. Of course for now, since she's in the school most of the time and has her brother, she doesn't have too much to worry about. Probably good, giving her mechanical leanings. Her favorite mechanics aren't the big ones like cars, although she still enjoys them, She likes inventing and tinkering with the small ones that bring joy. If it can be found at a toy store, she wants to take it apart and make it better. Or, turn it into a prank of some sort.
Given her intelligence, magic is almost an insult to her. If a problem can be solved with anything other than magic, she's going to do it. She'd rather pick a lock than use a spell. And why count on the stars when you could just do the math? It's not uncommon for her to lose her wand, and her casualness about it of course sends other witches and wizards into hysterics. Most of her attention is spent on her own side projects, usually mechanics of some kind. She has no interest in her actual schoolwork.
She doesn't really have a ton of interest in a lot of things, besides her current project. The most obvious one would be her lack of interest in sex. It doesn't bother her, but she isn't against it. And that's what people do, right? Society has shown her that that's how people connect, so she feels like it's the best way to keep a best friend. Scipio is her best friend in the whole world, and if that's how to keep him, it doesn't bother her.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Born to a muggle family, Charlie always had a good childhood. Her and her twin Peter were always close, and she was very upset when they started kindergarten and were separated for classes. They had a good, close knit family and the twins adored their parents. Charlie never did well in school, preferring instead to focus on her own projects with her dad, an engineer.
He didn't mind too much. After all, he understood. It was way more interesting to Charlie to design and build her own little machines, or to take apart a clock, or examine the workings of the car with her dad. He understood that curious mind, helped Charlie work with it. So when she got her Hogwarts letter, honestly, Charlie was upset. She had a good life, there was nothing she felt missing. And she didn't want to lose her after school projects with her dad.
Still, it was a new experience so she went along with it. She ended up enjoying the school, even if she didn't connect with many people. Entirely her fault, she never tried to. She was happy with her little bubble of her and her talks with her dad, and her fun with her brother. She became friends with Scipio pretty quickly, and that was enough for her.
And then the unthinkable. While coming to visit her, her parents ran into Death Eaters. Still in the beginning stages, the Death Eaters were desperate to prove themselves, lashing out at anyone not pure. The Westhoff's were slaughtered, only a few months ago.( ♜ relations )

Will was raised in a very peculiar household. His father was a wizard who opened up about his heritage with the muggle woman he fell in love with. Mr. Crowley was a Ministry worker and Mrs. Crowley a university professor with a knack for witty remarks. Will grew up hearing muggle and wizard music, playing quidditch and football, reading about space and dragons, because both of his parents were too stubborn to let their side take the back burner. His parents were stubborn, but they were far from argumentative. Overall he remembers his childhood pretty fondly, dancing around the kitchen with his dad or learning about Shakespeare with his mom.
It was only when his Hogwarts letter arrived that there really was a conflict. His mother wanted him to finish a muggle education, but his father insisted on getting him to Hogwarts. The argument went on for days, and only after a particularly nasty fight did his mother give up. Will went with his father to Diagon Alley, and what should've been one of his happiest days was tainted by the melancholy his father carried. And even on the day of his departure, his mother was devastated and gave him a book to read on the way, but it was his father who dropped him off at King's Cross. Little Will was terrified of being in a new school, a wizarding school above all, but he was also miserable just by thinking of his mother at home. But then he was sorted into Ravenclaw and began meeting all sorts of interesting people, and he excitedly wrote back to his parents, ecstatic to share his discoveries with them. His father wrote back, and the owl that delivered the letter delivered the news of the car crash that killed Will's mom.
Will has enjoyed his years at Hogwarts. He does his homework, occasionally, but would much rather stay in the library reading about literally any other subject but school work. Over the years developed a talent for romance, as many wizards and witches don't know of muggle poets he has been known to whisper sweet words that bring them all to his bed. Will also has made an effort to keep his mother's memory alive by smuggling muggle books and renting them out to whoever is interested, which has recently caught the eye of a couple of elitist purebloods. There is tension in the air, but Will Crowley is not worried. Althought maybe he should be.

Narcissa is the youngest of the trio of Black sisters. She was raised in a controlling household where appearances and obedience were everything, severe corporal punishment was used the moment any of the girls stepped out of line, and grew under the shadow of two perfect sisters. As the youngest she was spoiled by her father, he always had a soft spot for her, but never received anything but criticism from her mother. In her eyes the only one worthy was Bellatrix, the perfect child. Narcissa was always very observant, and she knew that if she wanted to be a worthy daughter she'd have to follow Bella's lead, and she did, actually following her everywhere and copying what she did much to the eldest's annoyance. But Cissa was a little kid so there wasn't much to do. It wasn't until she started growing up that Bella began to test her, wanting to know how far she would go for her and her family. She was so desperate to prove herself that she went through everything, but it was after these "tests" got Cissa's childhood cat killed that she realized how twisted Bella could be. She'd never underestimate her again.
When she arrived at Hogwarts, she yearned to find the confidence she never possessed at home. By keeping a close watch on her classmates she began to notice the little things: who liked who, who was failing Charms, who hated their hair, who was ashamed of their family. To get them to do what she wanted, she just needed the easiest magic of all: words. Through gossip, humiliation, and manipulation, Narcissa became Slytherin's queen bee. It only took her a minute to destroy someone's reputation, or someone's self-esteem.
There was one teaching the Black sisters were raised with that is central in Narcissa's life. Druella Black taught her three daughters that being born a woman wasn't the curse many believed it to be, but rather a weapon. It was with their charm and their physique that they had to use men to achieve their means, particularly money and blood purity. Narcissa took this teaching to heart, and the first thing she did to achieve this was to work on her appearance. She was always a pretty girl, but when she arrived at Hogwarts she did everything in her power so that she always looked, well, perfect. Hair, makeup, clothes when she isn't wearing the uniform, everything is carefully arranged by a meticulous Narcissa who is hell-bent on not only being a queen, but looking like one. The problem is that she is just as, if not more, picky with boys as she is with her appearance. They all have something wrong: too tall, too short, too thin, too fat, too dirty-blooded, too poor. The issue now is that her mother is asking questions. Why if Bella can get a proper pureblood can't Narcissa find one? She could tell her that nobody in Hogwarts is good enough for the family (which is what she does) , but she could also tell her the truth (not that she would), that it's not a man to manipulate what she's looking for. It's someone to love.

Growing up Peter didn't think he was particularly special. More so when he thought of his sister, who seemed to be incredibly brilliant without even trying. His parents never made it a big deal, but it was clear to whoever knew the Westhoffs that out of the two children, Charlie was the smart one. Peter usually just tagged along. And don't get him wrong, Peter adores his sister. But he always felt a little less next to her. Maybe that's why he threw himself into school so much. Charlie might've been a genius, but she wasn't the golden child in school. Peter could be that child. He studied extra hard and missed time from recess but at least he did well in school.
And then they turned eleven, and their life changed. A strange woman visited their house, and explained to their parents that the twins had magic. And Peter was just ecstatic. From the moment he stepped into Hogwarts he was fascinated by everything he encountered. Unlike his sister, he embraced the magical world and all its eccentricities. He wanted to learn everything there was to know about magic, and meet all the other witches and wizards his age.
Peter's not a prefect, but he's veryanalparticular about rules and schoolwork. He doesn't understand how anyone could do anything else but research for Potions, or practice for Charms, or write about History of Magic. He works extremely hard to make sure his grades are in perfect shape, and that his magic gets better with every year that passes. Being at the top of his class (or at least very near the top) helps him ease that part of his mind still insecure about his intellect. Maybe he'll never be as smart as Charlie, but at least he can perform a Confundus charm much better than she can.
