VALENS CAPULET, ft. Bryan Dechart

    Theme: Sweet Talk // Saint Motel
    Description: Being 6'1" could've made twenty-four year old Capulet imposing if he weren't usually wearing some goofy grin or other over the top expression. Instead he comes across as the soft-hearted and somewhat ridiculous man he really is. His skin is pale and dotted with a few moles, short brown hair curling softly, and dark eyes warm and welcoming, but by far his most recogisable feature is the suitcase that seems to be attached to him.
    Personality: He likes to think he's the good guy, one of the professors that students can come to about anything. Some see him as a little too strict or meddling to be any real help, and he's no pushover. He's very open-minded and supportive of students in particular, and his patience is unintentionally a bit shorter with adults. He's bisexual but finds it difficult to pin down a relationship because of his dual childish and strict nature.

He does love a challenge and can get quite competitive over the smallest of things, making him easy to provoke. He is slow to anger or show irritation and doesn't usually get anything more than a bit terse (although he's kept it a secret from most people, he tends to smoke cigarettes when stressed or emotional). When it comes to 'troubled' students visiting the infirmary, he prefers trying to laugh with them or having a good talk about personal issues rather than reprimand them. He is required to follow the rules, though, and will side with faculty if the situation calls for it.

HOGWARTS HEALER

Valens grew up with his magic, living with his wizard father and muggle mother, wizarding heritage and a muggle life coinciding until he recieved his letter at age eleven. His mother was blind, a compassionate soul who Valens spent much of his youth talking to and helping. She never found out the truth about her partner, and later would still remain ignorant towards the magical nature of her sons. To her, Hogwarts was a boarding school Valens had earned his way into via a fully-paid tuition after an impressive entry test. During holidays and trips home she'd fondly call him her little genius.

It wasn't altogether incorrect, either. 'Genius' may have been a little strong but when Valens put his mind to something he was passionate about he excelled. He was always a passionate boy, sometimes to the point of being problematic. Despite being placed in Hufflepuff, he was known as the boy with a temper throughout much of his younger years, slowly growing up and out of that phase with the help of friends and muggle cigarettes, a bad habit he never grew out of.

He quickly found a passion in the magic of healing, from the simple fixes to the truly grizzly spells gone wrong, but what made him stand out was his genuinely caring disposition. A prodige at healing and related subjects, his gift of being able to get a near-instant correct diagnosis could've secured him as prestigious a job as he could possibly desire. He was more than delighted to work at Hogwarts instead, the charm and feel of home drawing him back in.

    Magic: Capulet was never particularly quick with his spells, not quick enough for any combat or defence, but he put his full effort into every single one. In the subjects he didn't care for he recieved average grades, while in healing he excelled simply because he worked hard and studied harder. He has the habbit of keeping a suitcase on his person at all times, carrying around all the equpiment he deems necessary for his job. As he rarely leaves the infirmiry, though, people don't usually pick up on this quirk until they see him in his off hours (which are few and far between).
