Hey y'all - Nicole in Cleveland here. Have had this book on my shelf for waaay too long. Glad to read along with all of you and understand our shared history ❤
Hi! I hadn't heard about this book until I saw the buddy read on IG. The book size is a bit overwhelming for me but I haven't stopped thinking about it so I decided to join in. I can watch Midsomer Murders and Expedition Unknown over and over and over again.
I'm more of a hard cider fan than wine but I do enjoy a good cab sav.

Hi Ya'll! I'm Krista. I'm a teacher and mom from St. Louis. I'm a tea in the AM, wine in the PM kinda girl. I will read ALMOST anything, but historical fiction and speculative fiction are my genres of choice. I started a book club on IG where we discuss books written by black women, and I follow other bookies and clubs so I can see what's good out here in these literary streets. My IG: aspecialkindofdouble
Hi everyone- I am a high school English teacher and I usually try to read three books a week rotating between fiction, nonfiction and YA. This book has been on my shelf for months mocking me so I am super excited to have the push I need to get going!!
Hi! I'm Page. I live in Waukesha, WI. I just retired as an Executive Director of a nonprofit that provided free arts after school programs for teens.
In January of 2018 my New Year's resolution was to read more books. I started with TWOOS. I learned so much about the history of the U.S. that I was not taught in school. I am now going to reread it as part of this group.
I look forward to the discussions.

I've been a book lover since I was a kid, hiding under the covers with a flashlight way past my bedtime until my Mama would catch me. I read everything from Are You There God, It's Me Margaret to Jackie Collins. LOL!
Happy Reading!
Hey everyone! My name is Amber and I'd love to connect with you on IG @novellaryI've had my eye on this book for awhile and looking forward to diving in with the group!

Hi book friends! I’m Jen, 45, mostly read fiction so this big nonfiction book on my shelf has interested me, but sat unread for probably 7-8 years. I’m white, my boyfriend of 2 years (and his family who I’m now considered a part of) is black and the more I learn about racial issues, Black history, etc. the more I see how incredibly much I need and want to learn.
Side note: my boyfriends name is Sherlock Holmes Jr, which is pretty great for a book nerd like me. 😍

Hi y'all - I'm Jaime - teacher from DC. I am a former swimmer, which means, I spent hours at swim meets devouring books and not talking to people.
I believe it's not about things but experiences, perhaps why I love book clubs!
I hope to learn and hone my language skills but reading books in French and Spanish. I've started with books I am very familiar with and hope to get to native speakers when I feel confident. Anyone with suggestions about where to get books in French or Spanish?!

I’m Laura Gardner and I am excited to do this buddy read! I am a school librarian with a serious reading addiction—lots of middle grade realistic, but also YA and adult romance, dystopian, nonfiction and more. I have two kids, a hubby (who likes to read—yay!) and a wonderful dog. I live in MA south of Boston, but we also spend a lot of time in Vermont.
I'm sorry I'm late introducing myself ... it's been a week!I'm Amy (IG: anrobe) and I'm so excited to join in on this Buddy Read! I live in Richmond, VA with my hubby and two of our 3 kids. Our oldest just finished graduate school and moved to Pittsburgh for her first full-time job! Our boy/girl twins are 13. We have two dogs - Tanner and Millie. Both were rescues and are amazing! I can't imagine our life without them! I'm a project manager at a financial firm in my day job.
I'm also late to the party but I've been reading along! I'm Caroline, live in the SF Bay area and before that, Los Angeles for 12 years but grew up in the Midwest. I think I still have very midwestern sensibilities (love me a good casserole, too!) I work in HR but also shuttle my 2 kids around and love to cook so that basically takes up all my time. Loving this book and have recommended it already to at least 5 people! You can find me on IG @readtotheend

I started last February and made some progress, but got waylaid by other things. My IG is @drcreadsbooks. My husband and I moved to Oak Park, Il recently so we could spend more time with our youngest grandchildren, two 12 year olds and a baby (now 6 months old). Thank you for doing this!
Welcome everyone! It’s been a crazy start to February but I’m catching up this weekend. Thank you all for your introductions and for joining our buddy read. Hope you are enjoying the book thus far.
