2/1 - Yeva and her sisters remind me of so many sister stories. Each has their role, set by their own strengths and weaknesses and favor within the family. I like it. And the father seems a bit dark in terms of mystery, probably because we are seeing him through Yevas eyes. She doesn’t know what happened yet and why he is ruined.

It’s curious for this to start with the Forest. I love the idea of the wild forest, something stirring literally in the trees, and contrasted against the staleness of a world indoors where a baronessa holds court but so easily dismisses her ladies over a little weather.

How is everyone enjoying the book so far? I just got my copy, so I am trying to catch up.

I agree so much with you. I do like how one of the sisters is unlike the others because it makes her even more interesting in my opinion. I love the atmosphere of the Forest setting because it makes everything just a tad bit more magical.
