the true location of the city isn't stated, as it draws from elements all over the place. being set in the distant future; 2071, the technology is quite advanced things like cybernetics, androids, and ai now common in most settings. it takes place after the increase of crime, gangs and cyberterrorism gaining most control, though there are still government forces fighting for and maintaining their own control.

weather and climate

typically either chilled and damp or muggy and raining and vise versa, people either have gotten used to being in the rain while others carry an umbrella at all times. the air quality isn't the greatest, worse in some places and better in others. the temperature has risen over the years, but those who were born into it hardly notice the change.

culture

it's a melting pot of culture and people. the street fashion has mixed varieties of all sorts ranging from asian to european and beyond. sharp lines, bold or dark colors and wild stylistic choices are what makes up the fashion. food has your typical hole in the wall gems, street vendors and the market style foods you'd find in more asian countries.

crime and government

the government is still intact, if only by hanging on by it's teeth and they're fighting to take back control. corruption runs deep however, reaching both the military and police force. both organized street crime and cybercrime are common, once underground they hold onto what they have using whatever forces necessary. the masterminds behind it all however are the corporate companies, they're the true puppeteers in this fight for power, while a war is brewing between the officials and criminals the corporates lay in wait to reap whatever spoils will come from it.

id numbers

criminals who commit offenses enough time are given an id number, this is mandatory and is tattoed on the inside of their right wrist. many tattoo parlors will cover this up so long as the records are wiped so they don't get in trouble for it.
