Hello! It's really great to be here. Looking forward to getting to know you all and answer any questions you may have.
I will try and connect as much as possible, if I'm not in my cave working on the third and last book in my new Paranormal Romance series.
I've been writing for over ten years now. I've written a middle grade fantasy series, a contemporary romance, a NA fairy tale retelling and when I've finished my current story, hopefully an alien one will follow!
Ask me anything and I'll be as honest as possible. I'll post a few excerpts and maybe a giveaway or two. :)
Thanks again for having me.

Melina wrote: "Hi, Kristy,Since you've been writing paranormal romances, does that mean you believe in the paranormal? Or do you simply enjoy the creativity that comes from the writing in the genre?" Hi Melina, I believe there's more to life than what we see. I totally believe in angels, so yes to both answers as I love taking a story to any fantasy element possible. The thought of magic and the unknown lets me the writer, and hopefully the reader totally escape. :) xx
So, here's a excerpt from the beginning of the book, there's a little quiz at the end :)Somewhere between then and now
Screaming jolts me from my sleep. A shrill, sickening sound that vibrates deep within me. My stomach lurches as vomit rises up, sitting in my throat. Covering my ears, I pray for it to end. Someone is in excruciating pain. As the seconds unravel, and my consciousness clears, I realise that it’s me; I’m the one screaming out in constant agony. I want to stop but can’t. I need to force it all out, the pain, the darkness and this feeling of complete dread. There’s this great hole in my chest, like an inkblot expanding, taking over me until there’s nothing left.
Sobbing, my energy depleted, my emotions turn to sorrow. The slightest movement makes my flesh tear. My hands are now sore, blistered gloves of skin. I want to wriggle out of this body, discard it like a cheap suit…I want to walk away from this pain, this living hell, this life…I want to die. Why didn’t I die?
The skin holding my face together seems too tight for my skull. I want to rip it off. Digging my fingernails in, I drag them roughly down my cheeks.
“It burns!” I cry. “It burns!” There’s blood caked in my nails, and yet I still scratch. I can’t stop. It must come away, this rotten shell… I want it off me! I tear and claw at it, not just my face now; my legs, arms, and stomach…every touch feeling like a scorch mark, a lighted match etching over this flesh. I know I’m still under here somewhere, a prisoner in my own body. How did I become this? I don’t know if I’ve been brought here to die but right now, I’d welcome it. I’m lost, alone in this unknown hell. The real me has to be here somewhere…but who the hell am I? What’s happening to me?
“Help…please help me.”
“Stop!” A slim, tall woman appears. “You must stop.”
I obey without question. Tears trickling down my cheeks feel like drops of acid. The woman moves closer. With blurry eyes I can see that she’s beautiful, the kind of woman people see in dreams…I must look disgusting to her. She smiles, and I immediately relax. Her silver eyes lock with mine, I feel a sense of weightlessness. The pain’s still there, but I’m floating up, away from it. I know when my eyes open again that this nightmare will still be ongoing…but for now, I’m letting go of everything. If this is death, then it can take me. I’m silent, my body numb as I await her instructions. I’m floating somewhere between my body and the ceiling. In this moment, I am content to die. “You need to rest.”
“Who are you?” My voice sounds distant, like it doesn’t belong to me.
“I am here to help you, Summer.”
“Yes, that’s my name, isn’t it…Summer.” I know that but can’t seem to think past it to any other details about myself. Every time I try, a huge mental door clamps down in my mind. Panic bubbles, tightening my chest, I can’t remember one thing about this ‘Summer’ person I’m supposed to be. I have no recollection of anything at all! “What’s happened to me?” I whisper.
“You were in a terrible fire. Luckily, you are still with us.”
“A fire? What fire?” Shaking, I look down at my injuries and anxiety sweeps through me all over again. “I want to die,” I sob. “You should have let me die.”
“Please don’t.” She carefully places her hand on my hair. I feel cooler, like an anaesthetic is washing over me. “The process will take a while. I’m going to give you something to ease your pain.”
I feel a pinch to my arm and I’m incredibly sleepy.
“Did you save him too?”
“Save who, Summer?”
“I-I…don’t know…” My sore eyelids weigh down over swollen eyes. “I should have died…” I utter as a welcome abyss embraces me.
Question: A woman enters Summer's room, what colour eyes does she have?
A: Grey.
B: Light Blue.
C : Silver.
D: Silver/ grey.
Enjoy! xx

Yep :) xx
Hope everyone had a great week. Here is a little excerpt from Summer's End, there may be a little quiz too :)Breakfast is noisy. Trays banging, cutlery scraping, students slurping, laughing, being normal teenagers I guess.
“Summer, seriously? One Weetabix? That’s hardly going to get you to break time.” Persia looks across the table condescendingly.
“You want my eggs?” Coral asks.
“Erm, no thanks. I’m good.” I smile, wishing they’d both stop babying me. If I wanted eggs I would’ve bloody got some. I’ve lost my memory, not my motor skills. Should I just ask them straight out about the whole baby conversation?
“Persia…I…”
“Can I have everyone’s attention please? Right!” Tyler’s voice booms across the canteen interrupting me and I’m weirdly relieved. All heads turn toward him and cutlery comes to a halt. “Who bloody knows where my car is? Well?” Everyone is silent. I join in with the contagious shrugging. “Come on peeps…I won’t be mad.” His face is a picture of anger as he glares around the room, so clearly a lie. “It was in the car park last night, this morning it’s gone. Did anyone see anything, anything at all? No?” I’m half interested, but not enough to care. We all start to carry on with whatever we were doing before we were so rudely interrupted. “Okay, thanks everyone. Please come find me if you hear anything!” He tries to shout over the din. I feel awkward for him. Spotting us, he storms over. Perfect.
“Hey Tyler.” Here we go again.
“Can you believe this place?” He doesn’t seem aware that I even spoke. I get up to clear my tray. He comes with me. Great. He talks at me loudly about his stupid car. Not even a ‘Hey Summer, how are you feeling after yesterday’ or a ‘Sorry I touched you up…’ Maybe if I don’t respond he’ll move onto some other poor girl. What I really want to do is be left alone for a while, or were he’s concerned, an eternity.
A familiar cold sensation rushes over my body. I jerk and drop my tray. It clashes to the ground. The entire student body cheers and whoops. My face heats up with either embarrassment or a side effect of this new dizzy spell I’m having. I turn slowly, knowing already what I will find, him, ‘biker guy’ standing boldly in my path. Just seeing him again excites me, and yet, my head throbs; red spots start to cloud my vision, yet I see his emerald eyes taunting me. His expression is cold, menacing. There’s a look of pure hate in his scowl. Before I know it, I’m falling backwards. Hands catch me from behind.
“Summer?” Tyler’s voice sounds muffled.
“Summer?” I hear Persia’s voice like she’s under water. I sense Coral at my side. Then it’s just the blackness and me.
“I’m okay.” I mumble like a drunk as I come round suddenly, gasping, disorientated. My vision clears and I see him, only him. He stares into me like he can see right into my soul. Gulping, I try to shake my head of this haze I’m under. Tyler gently tilts me back onto my feet but his hands stay firmly around my waist. I bet he’s just loving this. I close my eyes for a second and attempt to slow down my breathing. Why’s it so hot in here?
“You!” Tyler snarls, his lips brushing my ear. “Where the hell’s my car shit head?” The guy looks at him with pure venom. “I’m gonna get you back for this you stupid prick.” So we’re back to the car again, never mind about my impending health problem. “Well are you gonna own up or you gonna go off n’ brood?” Tyler angrily digs his fingers into me. I wince. “Go on, walk away like the coward you are.”
“Are you actually talking to me?” Motorbike guy’s voice is low, with a touch of husky. I tell myself off. Now is really not the best time to be thinking of him in ‘that’ way. Besides, the guy obviously wants to rip my face off. Maybe I pissed him off before…before, when I was normal. What on Earth could I have done to make him stare at me that way? Does he know me? Was he a part of my past? I want to ask him but my mouth won’t work. Why doesn’t he just tell me what I’ve done? Is he enjoying this? Is this some sort of payback? If it is then Tyler is right, this guy really is a coward.
“I want my car back by the end of the day or I’ll be coming to find you,” Tyler threatens, now conveniently surrounded by his silent posse. He pulls me into him closer still. I groggily try to give Coral the ‘help me’ look. She doesn’t notice me; she seems annoyingly distracted by biker guy.
“Will you be decorating my bike again any time soon?” The guy raises a ‘bring it on’ brow at Tyler. I can’t seem to feel normal around him. My heart races, I’m a sweaty mess.
“Made it look loads better though,” Tyler stupidly admits. “Pile of crap.”
“I knew it was you.” He steps toward us. My ears buzz, my stomach flips. “You really shouldn’t have. Watch your back from now on.”
“You threatening me pal?”
“I’m not your pal.” I freeze as his eyes find mine, and then they follow all the way down my body to Tyler’s hands, still holding my waist. “I told you,” the guy looks from me to Tyler, “Don’t touch my stuff.” He turns slightly then smiles at me strangely before sauntering away. His stuff? I gulp, making my ears pop.
“Like I’m scared of that freak.”
“Oh Tyler shut up,” Persia orders. She grabs my elbow and instantly I feel okay again. He releases me at last.
“Thanks for catching her though.” Coral beams at him and waves across at Jack.
“Of course. Please call me later Summer, let me know how you are,” he shouts for effect. Like I even kept his number.
Okay so, here's the question:
What was Summer eating?
A: Sugar Puffs.
B: Two Shredded Wheat,
C: Toast with Jam.
D: A Weetabix.
E: Chips and gravy.
Enjoy! xxx :)
Shanna wrote: "Oooh, intriguing... :-) Who is this biker guy and what happened to Tyler's car?!?! A.
Happy Friday!" Exactly!! :) xxx
Of course Weetabix! Here's one for you to think about....
Question: Where do you think he hid Tyler's car?
Zuzu wrote: "! Yeah, what's up with the biker?! Exciting excerpt, Kristy :DD: A Weetabix."
Thank you Zuzu!! And yes, Weetabix. xx
Here's another excerpt for you guys. Happy weekend :)I let the water run over my hands for the longest time. I’m staring into myself, yet passed myself in the mirror. Buzzing from my triumph earlier. Knowing that in the end I’ll always win. The door opens breaking my trance. Tyler and three of his goons take positions around me. I slowly turn off the tap, reach over for a paper towel and eye them in the mirror. If I’m supposed to be intimidated they need to try harder.
“So you DO know what soap and water is,” Tyler smirks, his goons jeer.
“Good one dude,” the tallest one laughs.
“So I found my car, great idea parking it in the middle of the football pitch. And you’ll pay for the damage to my tyres.” Tyler crosses his arms.
“Oh will I? Is that all you want money?” My voice comes out low, growling even. I’m outnumbered but I’ll take my chances. They are silent. “What exactly is it you want?”
“What do I want?” King Jock hisses. “What do we want guys?”
“Well if you don’t know, kindly get out of my face.” I turn around and face them.
“Payback.”
“Oh is that right?” I lean casually against the sink to let them know I’m not threatened. I’m really not. I’ve fought bigger guys than these idiots, bet I’m faster too.
“You think I was gonna just let you mess with my car like that? Think again pal.”
“I told you, I’m not your pal.” I straighten up and step forward so our toes are almost touching. I’m at least half a foot taller and a lot broader than him. What he lacks in substance he nearly makes up for in back up.
“No, you’re just a piece of crap on my shoe. No one wants you here, so why not do us all a favour, get on that junk pile of yours and go back to your tramp camp.” Tyler rolls his sleeves up, suggesting he may make a move. I’m still not bothered, but he should be. I hear myself laugh; it’s pathetically funny really.
“What’s funny?” One of his herd moves in closer as the other two follow to make a wall around me. I have no intention of fleeing. I never run from confrontation, usually being the cause of it.
“Look in the mirror guys at how ridiculous you are.” I scrunch my fists, ready for them.
“You touched my car, now I’ll touch you,” Tyler snarls.
“You’re making me blush.”
“Mate, you’re asking for it.” His face starts to turn an amusing tomato shade.
“You messed with my bike, so if I were you, which thankfully I’m not, I’d call it even and toddle off.” I lean in really close to his face. I wait there for his response, which is a few seconds too long.
“Would you? Well I have a rep to protect, I’m popular you see. Got girls to impress and matches to win. Can’t go back on my word now, how chicken shit would that look?”
“Oh please,” I go back to my slouch against the sink, “If you’re after the little blonde chick, you don’t stand a chance.” I frown, not knowing why I mentioned her.
“What’s that gotta do with you? You been spying on us? Bloody weirdo. She wouldn’t look twice at a dropout like you. I’ll bet you fifty quid that I get in her pants before you do.”
Swearing at him, I punch him hard in the face. He squeals out as he steps back. What the hell had come over me? What did I care if he did her or not? He could do what he wanted to the little cow; after all she’d be gone in a few weeks.
“What the hell?” Tyler splutters blood from his nose. The skin around his eyes, already turning a purple, brown colour.
So what did Tyler bet?
A: A thousand pounds
B: Fifty Pounds
C:Fifty quid
D: Five hundred quid
E A pair of trainers...
:)
C: Fifty quid ($64.36 in US Dollars, 50 quid does have a better ring to it. LoL, had to look it up :/ )
Last excerpt of the month. Thank you guys for having me!“Let’s grab that bench.” My butt claims it. We have a beautiful view of the lake. I feel peaceful, comfortable, like I want to stay here and never know anything but this.
“The party was a hit.” Andie plonks down next to me.
“Guess so. I have nothing to compare it with. Sorry, is my whole no-memory deal getting boring for you?”
“Don’t be stupid. I knew about your baggage when we met, and I’m still here, aren’t I? Trust me, I never do anything I don’t want to.” I envied her for that. I sort of went with everyone else’s ideas, not believing in myself enough, not knowing myself enough.
A little girl holding a red balloon waves at me in the distance. I wave back, wondering where her parents are.
“Err, mate, who you waving at?”
“That little girl over there… hope she’s okay.”
Andie follows my gaze. “What girl? There’s no one there. You sure you’re not still a little bit drunk?” She cocks one brow.
I look back for the girl. “Oh, she must have found her mum…”
“Okay.” Andie looks puzzled for a second. I shake off a cold shudder.
“So, I didn’t see much of you last night?
“Sorry, mate, I was sorting the music. Every time I looked over you seemed okay.” She brings her knees up and hugs them. “Didn’t want to overcrowd you whilst you were doing the host thing.”
“Really? I mean it was great ’n all, loads of people turned up, but I wasn’t having much fun. The music was awesome by the way.”
“Thanks.”
“Welcome. Maybe it’s just me…”
“What is?” She rests her chin on her knees, staring sideways at me.
“It sounds strange, but Tyler…”
“Yuck.”
“Yes agreed, very yucksome, he was all over me like a rash, and well, that guy, the one I thought hated me, came in and kind of saved me. Well not saved, stopped maybe. Oh, I don’t know, I had a few too many of Coral’s special cocktails…”
“And then what? This is the leather clad sex god that stalks you, right? We really should find out his name. He looks like a Zane or a River…” She frowns like she’s thinking really hard trying to channel his name.
“River?” My face scrunches up. He looks nothing like a River. “Anyway, then he says something to make Tyler disappear and looks at me like he wants to…”
“Knife you? Kiss you?” Andie’s eyes widen.
So what colour was the balloon the girl was holding?
A; Blue
B:Yellow
C, Red
D. Not sure, pink?
C. Red Thank you for the wonderful excerpts. Still some time left in this month for one more excerpt?!?
