8) The author had a particular historical character in mind for the Kuiper character in the Heidelberg chapter. Can you guess?

No idea at all, but let's wait until everyone has finished before revealing the answer.

Madeleine Myers | 303 comments I can't answer that either, but I did finish reading the book. I left a review on both Amazon and Goodreads. I do plan to read it again, and try to fill in the blanks of my understanding. Meanwhile, I will try to post some of the quotes I highlighted. I do believe the novel is relevant, and challenging. But it is also a good story, and had me turning pages and thereby probably missing some of the intriguing allusions.

T.M. Doran (httpwwwgoodreadscomtmdoran) | 19 comments Thanks kindly, Madeleine. Over the years, I've heard from people who have enjoyed the story for very different reasons: the connection to LOTR, the quasi-historical characters, exploration of ideas and beliefs, suspense/mystery, though I didn't set out to tell a "multi-genre" story, just a story.
