A Long Story Short discussion

It's February and it's time to begin enjoying Lady Midnight! As you get through the first couple chapters this week, let us know your first impressions!

I have a really good impression of this book so far. I have read other Cassandra Clare books, she is probably one of my favorites. I have read both her other series in full. This series begins after the end of The Mortal Instruments series, but you definitely don't have to have read that series to understand this one because already in the Preface, the author has provided you with a lot of information that you will have needed. She gives a lot of background info for what downworlders are and what a shadowhunter is and their recent history. So, even though it has been linked to the other series, it is definitely stand alone with all new characters, which is cool. I enjoy reading different stories from a single universe. This one so far has given me a really good impression because it has the flow and feel so far of what I expect from this author. I am really excited to see where it goes, and as a returning fan, seeing how this universe is expanded.
