She has a book that just came out a couple days ago A Serial Killer's Daughter: My Story of Faith, Love, and Overcoming
Some small part of me wants to read it, but a bigger part of me is holding back... especially after seeing a number of reviews already that claim that pretty much all it is, is her using the fact that she was raised by a serial killer as a pedestal to push her born again religious ideals... and I just do not have the patience for that lol.
If I found out my father was a prolific serial killer, I think I'd turn to religion too.... or alcohol.
Hi, Erin,I always think (and hope), that if I found out this sort of information about an ancestor, I would be of the mind that I am not that person. I would hope I could know that my genes are not my destiny.
I don't suppose this attitude would prevent others from thinking and speculating out loud that "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree", yet I would be more secure in my mind.

I can totally see Dennis Rader sitting there miffed in his cell, saying in that nasal voice of his, "I feel as if she's using me!"
I hope by writing about her father that it has helped her in some way as a form of therapy. I also wonder how his wife handled all of this shock and horror.
On July 26th 2005 his wife, Paula, was granted an 'emergency divorce' the same day she filed (waiving the normal 60-day waiting period). He was arrested Feb 25th 2005. (Wikipedia)Thank goodness THAT judge knew how to handle that divorce case! I can't even imagine the pain she must have gone through.
Fishface wrote: "She divorced his sorry butt, is how she handled it."I figured she must have divorced him but think of how scary it must have been for her when she found out her husband was a serial killer! YIKES. I hope she has had some therapy too. What a miserable and evil little man.
I watched that story on 20/20 and Dennis Rader was an evil person but I feel very bad for his daughter and his whole family
Christine wrote: "I watched that story on 20/20 and Dennis Rader was an evil person but I feel very bad for his daughter and his whole family"I did too Christine. He was good to her and seemed just like an ordinary father who loves his family. What a shock!
Christine wrote: "I agree with you Rita and her father was a horrible man and I can’t believe he was a killer"Just think for a minute if you found out your dad not only was a killer but a serial killer. Gosh that must be a nightmare of shock and bewilderment. Wow!
And she still waited for the police to requisition her Pap smear sample to bust him? She couldn't, say, call the police?
Rita I would be very shocked to find out that my dad was a serial killer and I would never talk to him again and I agree with you Fishface that she should’ve said to call the police but I think she was confused about the whole thing
I don't know guys, if I found out my dad was a serial killer I probably wouldn't turn him in. But my dad said he would totally turn me in. #NoLoyalty
Yeah it’s kind of hard to tell because I feel very bad for her and her family and I can’t imagine what they’re all going through and that’s not good Erin lol
I would totally turn my dad in so I could visit him in prison every week and pick his brain. #forscience
