Books and Jams Readalong discussion

Hi friends! Another month is here. 2019 is well underway. I am so very excited to read The Great Alone this month with all of you. I know so many have already read it and loved it. I can't wait to see what we think. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is one of my all-time favorite books and it made me fall in love with Hannah's storytelling style. I just know I will love this one too and will have tissues at the ready!

Who of you missed the hype train and will be joining in reading with us this month? Have you read any other Kristin Hannah books? Let us know also if you've been to Alaska because that would be cool to hear! haha. I want to go there someday. I look forward to reading with you all!

I have not read any of Kristin Hannah's books yet, but I've been really excited to get to this one! Hoping I can get to The Nightingale sometime soon as well. Haven't been to Alaska, but I definitely want to, especially after finishing the Snow Child a couple of days ago!

Hello! I'm new to the group but, not to reading it's my favorite past time. I'm excited to get started and participate. I'm thankful for this online group unfortunately I live in a small town and there are no local book club groups. Sadly I've already read the selection for this month, along with several of her other books. Also, never been to Alaska but would love to go. Happy Reading I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did.

I planned on reading this book with the group this month. So I picked it up it up last weekend, during the big freeze we have been having, and finished it today. Just could not put it down. Now I am having a book hang over. I will follow the groups comment, just to get more of "The Great Alone". This is my third book by Kristin Hannah and have loved everyone. She is my new favorite author.

Just picked this book up today at my favorite used book store. I think I will join you this month.

Going to be reading along. I have a few Kristin Hannah books on my TBR shelves - started reading Mystic Lake last year but wasn't enjoying it and ended up not finishing it and have unhauled it. Will see how it goes with this one. I would love to go to Alaska one day:-)

I've already read it and loved it. It's really good and I hope you all feel it's great as well.

I read it last August so it's a bit too soon for a re-read, but I'll follow all the discussions.

Good good book. I don’t think I could live in Alaska but I would love to visit. I’ll add it to my bucket list.

I read half of this book with another book club. I had to DNF it for a time but am so happy to join in this club again! Looking forward to all the comments!

I read Night Road by Kristin Hannah before and I was really moved by the book. I cried really hard!!
I also loved Kristin Hannah's writing style. I cannot wait to read this book with you all.

I have not been to Alaska.

I've read three books of hers so far, all these newer releases she's had, and I've loved them all.

Im in, just started the book today. Never read anything by Kristen Hannah and this type of book is outside of my normal habits...Looking forward to trying something new.

I've been following for a while and have not yet participated, but this one grabbed my attention. I was able to get a copy of this book (audio version) through the library app so I will be listening along with you. I am a library paraprofessional as a cataloger in the Chicagoland area. This is really popular with book clubs right now. I had a hard time getting a hold of a copy. Happy reading!

I only just saw this message, sorry, Krista! I loved The Snow Child, it was beautiful and heartbreaking!

It is going to be my first Hannah’ book. But I remember your reviews on her books and made a mental note to read anything by her. So it is a good pick for me))) I am going with the audio book here

I listened to this as well. Good narrator. As we know, a narrator can make or break a book. I have DNF'd what could of been a good book because of a narrator. I enjoyed this book, my first Kristin Hannah. Happy listening!

I started reading this tonight. I love Kristin Hannah's books, every single one I have read has been wonderful. Tearjerkers but such good stories.

My copy of The Great Alone arrived today from Book Depository. 😕 I'm not going to start it at this point because I want to concentrate on Middle Grade March next month. In fact I may cheat a little and start one of my MGM books tonight. I'm one of those "one book at a time" people so no chance of me trying to read both. I'll get to it soon though!

Book Depository does take a long time! Bummer you couldn't read it in Feb. HOWEVER, Middle Grade March is just about here! woohoo!! haha. Feel free to pop back in these threads to share your thoughts whenever you do get around to The Great Alone. I do read all the comments even if I don't respond to all of them.

I’d hoped to read the rest of this book but time goes so fast! Ready for Middle Grade March with your recommendation, Krista, to read Sweep. Just received it in a book haul and am so excited to read it! It’s a beautiful book just from the outside already!
