I have a hold on this book. I would like to join as soon as I'm able to get it!

Did someone start already? I am also finishing another Buddy read but I think that I finish tonight and tomorrow start this one. I read last year The Reluctant Fundamentalist and really like it so looking forward to another of his books.

I started recently. I like it so far. Is very interesting to see the way he described the war. I am looking forward for the rest of the story

I did not originally sign up to be a part of this buddy read, but I did happen to read this book this month. I listened to the audiobook, which was read by the author, and finished it in one afternoon (really surprising for me because I usually take forever to finish audiobooks). One part of the book I really want to talk about is the doors, so once anyone gets there let me know because I am here to discuss.

I loved this and actually listened to it on audible and it brought the story to life for me.

I forgot to write before. I finish the book last week. I also like it a lot. Is a beautiful story in times when immigration is at is peak of controversy around the world. I do agree with Kristin that (view spoiler)[ is a beautiful love story in times that we have to adapt to difficult situations.
I like it a lot the character of Nadia, how she is always ahead of what the culture and other people says about how a woman should behave and how she stood up not only for herself but also for Saeed.
For me a very sad part of the story (yes, they are many) is the death of Saeed´s father. The way he assume this lost and how even Nadia wanted to pray for him move me a lot. Perhaps because I am an immigrant myself (not for violence, more like I fell in love with the country) and missed the funeral of my grandfather. I always feel a bit of pain for not been there.... overall is a lovely book that I think I will keep and read again.... Very happy to find a group of people with whom I can share these thoughts...
