This folder is dedicated to anything related to award-winning authors and the beneficial(or otherwise) footprint they left on our society. The story behind any author whose book has ever been presented either of the awards is almost as fascinating as the novels themselves. Both moderators and members are welcome to post in threads whatever biographical info, trivia, quotes, interviews or news articles they can find about any author of their choice in this folder.

Let us keep to one thread per author though, adding posts to existing threads

That's a great idea, Kate and I was thinking of writing one on Herbert. Looks like the novels his son wrote are not worth taking the time to read, so I plan to get a good sample of Herbert's work by reading four of his novels unrelated to Dune. Some are really looking great.

I read The White Plague way back when it came out. I thought it was great.

That's one of the titles on my list! Seems like Dune overshadowed a lot of his work.

Hi guys, got a small request.

The book we are reading no now, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, raises a lot questions about the author himself. Is there anybody who knows enough about Heinlein and interested in writing a post about the Dean of Science Fiction? No worries if it's too much work.
