Stephen King 2025 read-along discussion

January was a bit rough for me. I was sick 19/31 days. Which is insane. I never get sick. Yay and welcome to 2019 for me. How did you guys do on last months pick of Everything's Eventual? I've read half of it. Love that 2 of the short stories comes from the Dark Tower world. This month isn't about the short story collection however, it's about CUJO the killer dog. I read this book back in high school and I've seen the movie when I was a kid. Which just means I know the ending of the story and not the beginning because as a kid you remember the good parts.

Let me know if you have read this book already and are reading it for the 2nd time like me.

Like I said before Cujo was turned into a movie. Have you seen it?

I have seen the movie and love the book. What we don’t get to experience with the movie is Cujo’s point of view. I think that is my favorite part of the book. We get to see that he doesn’t want to be bad, but he can’t help himself. One of my favorite King books.

YES! I totally forgot that part of the book when I read it almost 20 years ago. I love that aspect of the book. Poor Cujo. He hurt and was confused.

I feel that way about a lot of Stephen king movies... there are certain viewpoints always missing that would make the movie so much better.

So reading the books out of order for this group because I want to read these in order but I read Cujo recently and I enjoyed it but I thought that the dog was going to be more vicious. Otherwise I enjoyed it. The movie was fine too :).

I've heard a lot of people reading these books in order. I wish I would have done that a few years ago when I first started this journey. Oh well. I'm still excited so many people are participating and trying King. He isn't all that scary when you start reading him.
