Bird Box (2018) is a Netflix movie that swept the world in December 2018 in such a speed that it even started a trend that is better not to mention here, because of how silly and dangerous it is. Watch the trailer and see for yourself what it is about, and you'll understand why it attracted so much attention.

Not everyone liked it. There are surely some of you who didn't. I did though, mainly for the strong performances and an interesting and intense storyline, that is so rare nowadays. Only later I found that it was based on the same-name novel by Josh Malerman. For those who haven't seen the movie yet, this month would be a nice opportunity to read the book first and then watch the movie. For the others, like me, it would be a great chance to see if the book is equally appealing and tense, or even better.

Freely share your thoughts and impressions, likes and dislikes for the movie and the book. Just be careful about revealing important plot points, or put them under spoiler tags, especially if you would like to discuss some relevant but spoiler-ish topics of the movie and/or the book.

Jai I saw the movie and recently read the book. I didn't like the book as much as the movie, which is odd for me.

I've read the book in only two days. It was a thrilling ride, and I enjoyed every second of it. Was my reading affected by the movie I've seen before it? Yes, I pictured Sandra Bullock as Malorie, Sarah Paulson as Shannon, and Tom Hollander as Gary. The main plot was the same one, but everything else was so different and unexpected. I would recommend both the movie and the book.
