This Part starts out with 2 quotes warning us that the diary entries are not going to be completely truthful. It’s interesting then, that Barbie’s story of the man and the account in Alicia’s diary are essentially the same. I assumed that Barbie exaggerated.
Is the man Jean-Felix? Why do I think it could be Theo? I know that’s not likely, but why was he so obsessed with her without knowing her previously?
She’s often angry. I understand on some level. Barking dogs are annoying. People who don’t believe you are annoying. People who won’t leave you alone are annoying. People who don’t listen and treat you like a child are annoying.
Why do I want so badly for her to be innocent? I don’t want her to have killed her husband because she thought he was the nonexistent stalking man. I don’t want her to be crazy.
This is getting interesting. Because her story and Barbie's story line up, I believe her. I'm frustrated for Alicia with everyone treating her like she's seeing things or making this up.
I do think she knows the man, she just can't tell who it is yet.

I think the man is Gabriel. Not sure why I think that, but the whole time I’m reading it I’m thinking “I bet for some sick reason it’s Gabriel”.
Rebecca wrote: "I think the man is Gabriel. Not sure why I think that, but the whole time I’m reading it I’m thinking “I bet for some sick reason it’s Gabriel”."
Something is off about Gabriel. He seems too good to be true while being incredibly selfish and controlling. It wouldn't shock me.

The quotes that started Part Three out were an interesting prelude for this diary entry. Also, before I forget (because I forgot to mention this in a previous post).....a few diary entries ago when Paul was wanting money from Alicia, Alicia made the statement: "He should know me better than that. I'm not the mothering type." I thought that was such an interesting statement, since a few entries before that she felt joyous and full of hope when she and Gabriel decided to have children. Very strange of her to say that.
A few things from this entry, though...... First of all, I think her relationship with Jean-Felix is very odd. He doesn't like Gabriel, Gabriel doesn't like him, and even Alicia doesn't seem to like him. Then why bother with hanging out and doing business with him?
Also....after Alicia visits with Dr. West, she writes that she couldn't bear the thought of losing Gabriel, and that she'd do anything to keep him -- event pretend she's crazy when she knows she's not. I thought that was a very strange statement, given the circumstances.

This is where really started to feel bad for Alicia - murderer or not. No one believes her about the man but she has no one to count on so she's forced to play along.
