I guess we are at that age now, when we attend more funerals than weddings.
So sorry about your friend's passing. It's difficult to come to terms with the loss. I expected the increasing pain from joint issues & poor health issues as we got older, but truly have been knocked for a loop by the loss. A dear friend died in October. She fought cancer with no complaints … literally none all through chemo & radiation twice. Then her body just seemed to lose all strength. Her daughter said she thought her mom just said enough was enough. I've been spending a lot of time with her son … taking him with us to events. He is a good friend of my son's … they work together & are in Special Olympics. I've discovered I love hockey, but wrestling … not so much. LOL
Hope you can find some time to read here & there.

Great recommendation! I read it for my F2F book club back in 2003. Maybe I'll re-read it. Will definitely pop in for the discussion in either case.

My little library doesn't have a copy so I use interlibrary loan. There were lots of copies available. I'm guessing it will come next week. I think they deliver Fridays.
We usually start group reads on the 19th of the month, but I'll start this one on March 1 which will give us time to get the books. It's long at 508 pages so we can take some extra time if needed.

If there is any interest in continuing, I am willing to do a group read. I think it might be simpler at this point to list the books that have not been selected for a group read in the past. I'll do that in the next post & send a message out later tonight or tomorrow. I have a meeting on Monday & am hoping to get my granddaughter for the weekend so need to get my report ready before Friday.
I have missed our quiet group. :-)
