I'm excited to be jumping in for #MMM 😎
For this one I went with Dark Blossom by Neel Mullick
a new to me author since I've already read the one I had picked before this one .

Real tours are also organized around her books in these areas.
Another great mystery writer with books sets in various areas of Paris is Mark Pryor. See for instance https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1.... His latest is The Book Artist, maybe not as good

I did enjoy my intro to Mark Pryor via
The Paris Librarian for some yr's Paris in July challenge.I've a few library loans out for NEW Discovery reads. Will see which others or how many I'll get to 😉
Hunting Annabelle is what I'm reading for this challenge. I received this book from NetGalley before it even came out but never got it read. I think it was released in December.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Thanks for the suggestions!
I just saw this novel on the shelf at my local library and decided to give it a go. If I like it, they have the entire series at the same branch, so I'll know where to look. :)
Death and the Walking Stick by Linda Berry
I finished Blindsighted by Karin SlaughterNew Author for me
Thriller type book: about women/girls being killed
that look a like and the killer is a religious fanatic
so the killer adds religion to his killing
this book is a first in the series: solving the crimes are a ex couple
Chief Police and a doctor for the small town in which they live.

Sounds interesting! I have not read anything by Karin Slaughter yet. Do you think you'll continue with the series?

I'm going with a new series A Knife in the Fog (Margaret Harkness and Arthur Conan Doyle #1) by Bradley Harper. Two real life writers tracking down Jack the Ripper.
For this prompt, I chose a new to me author. I picked
by Amanda Flower. It is the first book in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.
I just finished Postmortem by Patricia Cornwell. This is a new to me author and also the first book in a series.
I finished I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara. It is true crime book which is a "new to me" genre. Maybe because it won the goodreads award, I had high expectations for this book. I did not like it as much as I wished. I gave it three stars.
I am guessing this book would be really engaging true crime book if the author had sadly not passed away. It is a book that is hard to follow and therefore it was impossible for me to be engaged in. The sections written by her shows her talent for writing but the book as a whole feel disconnected somehow.
I finished Murder is Binding for this challenge. I listened to the audio book and loved meeting a new cast of characters. I was hooked by the characters and requested the next book immediately from Overdrive. The plot is pretty typical for cozy mysteries but then I think the point of cozy series is to love the characters and to be comforted by familiar plot.
Another new one for me: All the Missing Girls by Megan Mirandaabout 2 missing women a decade apart.
The story is told backwards, so its very confusing
however a lot of hidden discoveries on why these women disappeared.
I read Kingdom of the Blind by Louise Penny for this prompt. What a good book! This is the newest in this continuing wonderful series.
Originally I had planned to read Dying in the Wool for this challenge because that author was new to me. But since I'm trying to use a different book for each challenge, I'm going to use Woman In the Window for this one. This is the authors debut novel and so far is still his latest. So of course he is a New-to-me author.
I hosted this book as a read-along and had lots of fun chatting about it here in this group in the Whodunits folder.

Discover SOMETHING NEW: Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss - released in 2019 about obsessive interests gone awry. Takes place in an anthropological/archaeological setting. As I have done avocational field archaeology and professional work with museum/archaeological collections and archives, this book was right up my alley. Short but scary.
