Christian Ladies Book Club discussion

I just finished this book and loved it! I found your discussions and I'm glad to find this group. I have a couple of unanswered questions though. How did Lukas know Mister V, and why did he have such a poor opinion of him? I may have missed that part in the book but I wanted to see if anyone could shed more light on the matter.

Hi Michele! I'm not sure how this happened, but I am just now seeing your discussion question (yet I didn't see anything designated as unread).

Lukas and Mr. V.....I don't think Lukas knew him. It's been awhile since I've finished the book, but if I recall, Mr. V. was interested in Lukas, but Lukas didn't trust him, thinking he may be a German spy of some sort out to hurt his family. The Germans (and others I believe) were after the secret cyphers his father had designed, so he was very wary of who he could trust. He was also very protective of his sister and knew the secrets they were looking for resided with her.

I'm excited to start the next book in the series :)
