Julia971 | 80 comments I hunt killers is a good IR murder mysteries. It's YA, so it never gets too intense but the plot is addictive.

SassafrasfromAmazon | 179 comments Hi Denise. I have read the series by David Handler-Berger and Mitty Mysteries. He is Jewish, a widower and a film critic. She is a lieutenant on the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes squad. They are as different looking as night and day. They not only become a crime-solving duo, but eventually a romantic couple. The books are delightful with a small town cozy feel. The main IR couple are intelligent and very witty.

Years ago I read a police procedural series involving a black female detective by Judith Smith-Levin that was fantastic; however, she has passed away, and I don’t know what’s in print and whether there was an IR component. You would have to do some research on that. These were published before e-readers. I would check bookstores and libraries.

I’ll have to think about any others I’ve read and will post that info.

Oh yeah, I have all of those, patiently waiting for him to release another... LOL! Thanks for the suggestions.

Just checked my bookshelf and I have Judith Smith-Levin books also.

TinaNoir | 1457 comments Pennywise: A Maggie and Odessa Mystery bu Jill Brock -- First book in cozy, humorous mystery with an IR romance in the background.

Sex, Murder And A Double Latte by Kyra Davis. First book in a Humorous cozy mystery. Low key romance. Sophie is half black/half Jewish. Her LI is a Russian dude.

Death's Favorite Child by Frankie Y. Bailey - Lizzie Stuart mystery series. Quiet IR romance in the background, She is a BW professor, he isa WM head of campus police. First book of the series.

Blue Ridge by TR Pierson - mystery/crime suspense. Background IR romance between a WM Sheriff and BW Park Ranger.

The Night Gardener by George Pelecanos. Police procedural. Not really a romance but one of the cops is in an IR marriage and there is a lot of domestic drama (involving one of his kids) woven into the crime stuff. The cop is white, his wife is black.

Also heartily co-sign the Judith Smith-Levin books, the last one written was Reckless Eyeballin' and it ended on a cliffhanger. Which is a bummer.

I've read the first four or five of the Berger and Mitty series and really enjoy them and need to read the rest soon. I also LOVED the Starletta Duvall series. It's so sad that she passed away.

Hey Monica, I looked at my bookshelf and found so many that I had forgotten about that I will definitely read again. I need to find a way to organize all the books on my Kindle +/- 2000 so it I can keep track of all the books I have. All of my David Handler and Judith Smith-Levin books are hardbacks.

I have been neglecting my Kindle and it's a HOT MESS! lol I started making categories and adding books to them since that is such an awesome feature, but I stopped and only have about 25% of my books cataloged. I need to get my Kindle life together!

Justine | 1363 comments Judith Smith Levin was indeed a loss. Saw an interview that she did on late night tv: she was quite engaging.

Teinevi | 15 comments If you're still interested, Jill Brock author of Maggie and Odessa Mysteries, has a new book coming out in April, continuing the series.

I remember Rachel Butler had a series (Selena McCaffrey) who is the BW protagonist. You'll have to do some research on it because I don't remember the particulars. There were 3 books.
