Beyond Reality discussion

The eight book of the Expanse series is being released next month! Given that it was our last series read and a lot of people participated, I'm wondering if there is interest in reading it together later in the spring, maybe in May when we are taking a catch-up month between Robin Hobb trilogies? I'll be reading it either way, but I thought I'd check in to see if there was group interest in talking about it together (I chose not to nominate it as BOTM because I didn't want to exclude those who didn't participate in the series read). Thoughts?

I'll definitely be reading it. It's been long enough since I read #7 that I'll have to refresh my memory of where I left off, but that's okay. I'd be happy to join in the discussion if my aging neurons are up to the task.

I preorder every single one of the expanse books. Very psyched to read this in March!!

So excited!! Hopefully vomit zombies will not reappear? Interesting they repeated the name “Leviathan....”

oooooooh! I've been checking in on this periodically but hadn't seen the title. So what do we think it all means? The protomolecule was the Leviathan in the first book...is it still? Or is it now the Laconian empire?

(The earlier plot is fresher in my mind than the later stuff, because we've been watching the TV series - almost done with season 2)

Apparently the announcement was made a 7-8 hours before I posted. I just happened to luck out to see it so soon. :D

I'm not sure if Leviathan refers to the protomolecule or the makers of it, or something else. I am dying to find out. :)


My husband and I have been holding off on watching the series until after the books were done. I can be a bit odd about TV shows and movies based on books. I really don't like them influencing how I experience the books.

Does it have a publication date yet?? I know it's supposed to be sometime this year. Definitely my most anticipated book of this year! We will absolutely have a thread when it comes out!
