a garden snake tastes the spring
with a small, forked tongue

brittle branches, bone
naked in the winter's light

Winter's out of sync
New Year comes in like a lamb
Flurries fly in spring

annual flowers
stretch and grow and fill their beds
with colorful blooms

beads of summer sweat
trailing down his handsome face
fall like drops of rain

Cool april morning
when hope's green veil deploys in
a million shades of spring.

leaves fallen in the rain
are lifted up again
small whirlwind afternoon

red scarves round cold necks
purple gumboots shine
on golden autumn leaves

So swiftly
the blossoms passing
lingering chimes

Acacia trees
clothe their brittle bones
soft green

Braving ice and snow
damson trees bud and flower,
winter softly broke.

Hot, hot, damn hot.
Hot enough to stay inside
with stinky armpits.
