Community is so important for authors, whose role in the corporate world is known as "individual contributor." So much of what we do, we do alone. Thanks for the invitation!I'll be adding my novels and other works to the bookshelf. Meanwhile, here's an abridged bio and link to my website:
Robin Reardon is an inveterate observer of human nature, and her primary writing goal is to create stories about all kinds of people, some of whom happen to be gay, transgender, or intersex—people whose destinies should not be determined solely by their sexual orientation. Her secondary writing goal is to introduce readers to concepts or information they might not know very much about.
Interests outside of writing include singing, nature photography, and the study of comparative religions. Robin writes in a butter yellow study with a view of the Boston, Massachusetts skyline.

Hi Jamie,
Thank you for joining the group, welcome!
We have been friends for a few months on Goodreads and I am so excited for your work and having the opportunity to be one of the first people to read both, 'Insular' and 'Mr. Jones!' I am excited for 'Mr. Jones' to be released again for it is truly a wonderful story.
If you haven't already placed, 'Insular' on the bookshelf? Please do so now, this is how I am managing what books authors would like us to read, so I apologize for removing your post in the folders, but I want to manage this group a bit different than the other groups. We will have the opportunity to read everyone's work, and so we don't have to ask in a 'mass' post, simply placing your book on the shelf lets all members know this is the book you are choosing for us!
Sincerely,
Ali :)
P.S. Please place your giveaway in the events' folder for us.

Hello everyone! I am a new author to fiction works. I have written poetry for years and published two books and had my poems featured in anthologies in online magazine publications. I have always loved writing and held onto my fiction ideas for a long time. But not anymore! :) My first release is in the romance genre. I also just published two more works, two short prequels to my upcoming book series Chroma Chronicles, that are in the scifi romance.

Hello my beautiful souls.Firstly I would like to say Thank You.
Thank you for adding me to your group.
I’m a first time author and just independently published 1 of the 5 children’s books I have written and I wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Medea Kalantar, I live in Ontario Canada, I’m a Reiki Master and Practitioner, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband Esfandiar for over 27 years and we have two beautiful children Shanaz who is 26 and Jean-Diar who is 25 years old.
I was inspired to write these books as I’m about to become a grandmother. My stories are all based on my own family, whose members come from many different ethnic backgrounds. This unique mix is a perfect recipe, and it’s the reason why I call my grandchildren my little Honeycakes.
My first book Honeycake - A Family of Spices introduces readers to a diverse, multi-cultural family that is full of love.
The grandmother explains why she calls her grandchildren “Honeycakes” while she teaches her granddaughter how to bake a honey cake.
Through imagination, the grandmother details how each delicious ingredient represents a different family member and his or her unique ethnic background.
This charming book also includes a recipe and step-by-step instructions on how to bake your own delicious batch of honey cake with your Honeycakes!
With more lovely stories to tell, Honeycake will be followed by a series of books. Each one tells valuable life lessons and gives parents and children the tools to overcome obstacles in their everyday lives.
These books will teach children how to do random acts of kindness, have honest and open communication, and practice gratitude. Children will even discover how to meditate and manage their emotions when things don't go their way. I wrote these stories to help young readers count their blessings and to share positive messages.
I am passionate about my books because it will help caregivers teach their children to become more balanced, kind, grateful, honest people and will help them manage their emotions when things don’t go the way they hope. I always say there is no such thing as wining or losing, there is only wining. You win when you reach the goal you wanted to achieve or you win by learning a very valuable lesson. It’s all about perspective and how you look at things. This is what I try to teach through my stories.
My vision is that my books will be in all the schools as part of the curriculum. How amazing would it be for our children to learn how to meditate, live in gratitude be honest and be rewarded not only if they win a race or competition or if they got an “A” but by showing compassion and doing random acts of kindness. How much more of a better world we would live in if we didn’t focus on everything we don’t have and be grateful for all the wonderful things we do have. Giving children these valuable lessons at a early age, will help them grow into happy adults that aren’t stressed out and live with a healthy mind, body and spirit.
We all come from many different cultural and religious backgrounds but we are all one race. The human race. We are all one.
My passion is to help young readers count their blessings and to share positive messages.
My first book is now for sale online on Amazon, Barns and Noble, and Indigo. I'm so excited to have you all part of this journey.
I believe that if we instill these valuable lessons to our youth at an early age, we can shift the universe into a positive direction.
Blessings of Love and Light
In Warmth,
Medea

Hi everyone!I live in Alberta, Canada. My debut mystery 'Tied to Deceit' was published last August. It's whodunit/police procedural set in 1970s India. If you love Agatha Christie, Ruth Rendell, P D James, Elizabeth George, Louise Penny (specifically character-driven mysteries), you will love Tied to Deceit.
Kirkus has recently selected my book for 2018's Indie Authors' Worth Discovering List (for June Issue).
Tied to Deceit
From the Blurb:
On a drizzly August morning, the inhabitants of the hill town of Sanover, Himachal Pradesh, wake up to the shocking news of the murder of the exquisite, secretive, malicious, and thoroughly immoral Devika Singh.
As Superintendent of Police Vishwanath Sharma begins to sift through the hidden secrets of Devika Singh's life, it becomes evident that everyone who knew her seems to have a clear-cut motive for killing her.
Faced with the investigation of a crime that appears to have as many suspects as there are motives, Vishwanath Sharma probes the sinister web spun around a tangle of lies and deception.
Praise for Tied to Deceit:
"A remarkable whodunit that's as sharp as it is concise.
Brar enhances her taut murder mystery with an engaging setting that effectively incorporates the local culture. The smart, believable denouement will have readers looking forward to Brar's next endeavor."
-Kirkus Reviews
"A literary mystery saga that includes far more depth and psychological and cultural insights than your typical murder mystery's scenario."
-Midwest Book Review
"Tied to Deceit definitely is a book to recommend to crime fiction fans, especially if you love ‘’who dunnit’’ mysteries! "
-San Francisco Book Review

My name is James, and I self published my first book about two years ago. I have been writing since, but have put no work into marketing my book, so I have only sold a couple dozen copies. Recently, I retired from being E.D. of a small charity working with ex-offenders. I am just now trying to launch myself as a writer. I am new to Goodreads and am trying to figure this community out.
Welcome, James, thank you for joining! I do hope this group will be a great place for you to begin really marketing and getting excited about your book!
I hope you enjoy it here :)

Hi everyoneI've just joined the group today & hope that I'm doing this right! I guess I'll know eventually :D
I've recently starting self-publishing children's picture books. The nice thing about that is...they're only 30 pages long & are much quicker to read & review.
I'll try to add one book to the bookshelf for anyone who's able & willing to review it. It's available on Kindle Unlimited: "I'll Just be a Tad", written by me, Gill Marshall.
Thanks and have a great weekend everyone,
Gill.

I do hope you have fun and enjoy learning from each other, exploring and reading each other's work!?!
Let's build a wonderful community where we support, follow, read, review and rate each other's work ... as we all know, marketing and promoting can be a very difficult task, so let's help ease some of this and unite with one another on our publishing journey!
Don't forget to add your books to the bookshelf!
Please feel free to invite your friends to join!
Sincerely,
Ali Marsman
