Casey Paulucci | 9 comments I really enjoyed reading "Hate That Cat" by Sharon Creech! The whole novel was very unique and I say that whole heartedly. Every page seemed somewhat poetic, but the way the pages were written made the book go by very fast. The words throughout the pages were sort of scattered if that makes senses and very spaced out. I could see myself giving this book to a student who either is into cats and dogs. Or a student who is discouraged and needs a confidence booster simply because this book is 153 pages long, but with the way that it is written a student could finish it in a week or even a day. Anyways the story. Jack (the main character) is being taught poetry about cats by Miss Stretchberry. He likes dogs better because he had one. Later starts warming up to the idea of cats. I can relate to not warming up to the idea of something, especially getting cats because my roommate wanted to get cats a couple of years ago and I told him no and then he went ahead and got them anyways thinking that I couldn't say no when he already go them. Well... I he was right and we had two cats who were annoying. But, it taught me a lesson to at least try something and if it doesn't work, either try to make it work or give up and go back to when you were happy. Also, this book taught Jack about poetry and I love poetry so that was a major plus for me. This book is an easy read, entertaining, and overall satisfying to read. I might just have to read "Love That Dog" by Sharon Creech.
