The Magic forest
The magic forest which I write about in my books, does exist. It can be found just of the A34, near the boar’s hill round about, Oxford England.
It is a small woodland that is in a valley, which has a clear bubbling stream running though it. In the spring time there are blue bells and there is slow berry’s, elderberry’s and hazel nuts in the autumn.
To get to the woods, you have to walk across a wooden train sleeper board walk, surrounded by long pink tipped grasses five feet tall. You can hear the birds cheeping as the route curves around and goes over a small stream with tiny waterfall.
The ground is damp with fallen leaves, and there is a wonderful airiness in the woods on a hot day.
There are a mixture of trees, oak and beach being the main ones. They have old knurled bark and soft green moss covering them. Many of trees fallen down were insects and small animals have made a safe home there.
Strange rocks litter the ground, when you pick them up they look like concrete, although are much lighter. If you smash two of them together, they reveal tiny white crystals and even sometimes small fossils.
Even although the woods is not that far from the main road, you don’t hear the traffic and if you close your eyes you could be a million miles from Oxford.
