Here's the document if you want to print it off: Scavenger Hunt
2019 Enchantathon Scavenger Hunt
Once upon a time there was a tiny little princess. Her greatest wish was to be a knight so that she could go on quests too far off lands, but every time she mentioned this to the queen, she would smile, pat her little head and say, “You are much too precious to go on dangerous quests.”
This made the princess very sad. It wasn’t until her 7th birthday that her wish would be granted. That day, her grandfather gave her a gift.
“This is a very special gift,” He said, “It is a ticket to a magical land.”
The little girl’s eyes lit up with delight as she ripped open the package to find a book inside.
Scavenger hunt prompt 1: Take a photo of a book you are excited to read.
“This is a book, Grandfather.” She said when she saw it.
“It is, but in books you can go places that you couldn’t imagine in your wildest dreams.”
She thanked her grandfather and took the book to her favorite hiding place. And there she snuggled in to read.
Scavenger hunt prompt 2: Take a photo of your favorite place to read (bed, library, coffee shop, etc.)
After that day, her grandfather would bring her a new book every time he came to visit. But before he would give it to her they would talk about the previous book.
“Oh Grandpa, I went to a school, where they taught magic and rode broomsticks.”
“Oh Granddad, I went through a cupboard and visited a beautiful land called Narnia.”
“Oh Grandfather, I went to a place where there was a zoo full of magical creatures.”
She would squeal with delight making her grandpa laugh and clap as she told him all about the fantastic lands she would visit.
Scavenger hunt prompt 3: Take a photo of a book set in a place you’d like to visit, or a book in an unusual location.
As she got older, the little princess could read so fast her grandfather couldn’t keep up. So, she would be seen scouring the castle for more books to read. She read her father’s history books, her mother’s romance books, and even the cook books.
Scavenger hunt prompt 4: Take a photo of a skill/craft you’ve learned or would like to learn from a book. (nonfiction)
The Princess’ love of reading grew, as did her collection of books. She found out that she could visit any place she wanted, go on endless adventures, learn all she needed to know through books, and it all started with one birthday present from her grandfather...
Scavenger hunt prompt 5: Take a picture of your personal library or favorite book shelf.
And she lived happily ever after.
