Madison Whichello | 9 comments I enjoyed reading Invisible Emmie by Terri Libenson because it was a pretty easy read and I liked how it reminded me a lot of middle school and all of the things that came with it. I was a lot like Emmie, I was very quiet, shy and very skinny. Just like Emmie’s friend Brianna, I too only had one real friend who actually paid attention to me. When I was in seventh grade I too had a couple girls that I looked up to because they seemed to have it all together, they were pretty, funny, and all the boys liked them and wanted to hang around them. I really liked how Emmie (towards the end of the book) actually stood up for herself and found her voice. I thought Terri described middle schooler’s anxieties and the drama they face, very well.
I think this book would be really good for young girls to read because it shows that their not alone if their dealing with a similar situation and they probably are because there’s so much drama that surrounds middle school girl.
