A writer Renee introduced me to is releasing her debut next month and offering ARCs for you guys if you're interested. It's Rapture by N.N. Britt. I haven't read it yet but I hear it did well on Wattpad and the reviews so far look good. It's supposed to be emotionally heavy, so this book is rated NSFL. Based on Natalia's involvement in the LA music scene, I'm betting it will be pretty authentic. If you're interested, let me know here or PM me and I'll send you the download link. **PLEASE NOTE THIS VERSION HAS NOT BEEN PROOFREAD!**

And please remember this is an uncorrected proof. This isn't the final version proofreading-wise (the story won't change, however).

I just updated the main post.
I am heading to Lake of the Ozarks for a Girls weekend ..so little to no useful reading will occur while I’m there. If it does, it will most likely be “drunk reading” — just be forewarned...

You are the bestest ever, Robin!!! Thanks kindly.
Leslie wrote: "Funny how the books I shy away from are the exact ones you guys all love!"What did I just read the other day that I thought "This is Leslie approved". I have to remember and let you know!!!

Leslie wrote: "Funny how the books I shy away from are the exact ones you guys all love!"I was just thinking about this the other day. You've been in a reading rut for a while and when you do stray occasionally, I've noticed you end up really liking the book like It Ends With Us, Full Tilt, and One True Loves. Maybe you should read outside your emotional tolerance box once per month and we can hold your hand through it! No time like the present to go to the Serengeti!
If anyone want to help a sister out and vote, Robin just added Natalia's book to this list:https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...
The book is tied for #74 right now.

Ooh, Lisa...let me know if you remember. Sorry to get so off topic...but I am going to make my reading slump everyone's problem!! 😉
Robin, you are right that I like "emotional" books. I want to feel and have some angst. What I dont want is depressing. Behind the Bars was total fluke. I do not want to read books that dark.(I know you didnt read it, but I think you know Ms. Cherry's style) It End With Us was my kind of book. I love the flashbacks (the journal entries just like in Ghosted) and I didnt find it super sad til the end. Full Tilt was tough but I knew ending so it was easier to take. I had harder time with book 2 because all that grief was too much. I don't want anymore terminal illness books. Also with One True Loves you know what you are getting going in. I loved the love triangle part and the flashbacks. I'm not sure I can handle the (view spoiler) in Mists of the Serengeti. The (view spoiler) from your book nearly kills me.
I'm also finding that I have no tolerance for non first person pov. Ive gotten a few recs that had 3rd person and I couldn't do it.
So...I am going to keep reading and hope something tickles my fancy.
Any CR, non-death, 1st person recs are welcome.

I've found I'm struggling more and more with 3rd person too. Used to, I avoided it because it would throw my first person writing off, but now it's just become personal preference. The whole time I was reading Making Faces I kept thinking how gut wrenching that plot would have been in first person. As much as I liked it, I didn't get as emotionally invested as I could have.
And LOL about the WFTS (view spoiler)
Oops! Accidently used the code for strikethrough instead of spoiler so that just got emailed to anyone with notifications. 😬
Robin, that is so funny about your book. I never would have guessed. Making Faces is perfect example of what I dont like! Even 1st person POV wouldn't have saved it. 🙁So I think I am dnf-ing my current read (because its a snoozefest) that I am I already 50% in 🤬 AND...I tried new one and its not 1st person (which I think I could tolerate because lots of dialogue) but there is looming death (terminal family member). *throws up hands in defeat*
