For my graphic novel book I decided to read Sisters by Raina Telgemeier. This was a fun and interesting book to read because I was able to relate to her in some aspects. Raina was the the oldest sister who struggle to get along with her siblings. This story reminded me of my childhood with my brothers. I was the middle child who had it rough due to being the only girl and with weird age differences. In the story Amara wanted a sibling to play with but when that sibling came along, it wasn't what she expected. She wanted a little sister that would emjoyeveyrhting she did. Further into the story, the family goes on a trip in which the dad does not go along with them. Instead, he takes a flight. It takes the girls and the mom about a week to get to their destination. As I read more I came to find out the reason why their dad did not travel with them. The girls then understood what was going on and were finally able to get along and seek for help from each other. I was able to relate to this book because as well as the girls, my family and I went through similar circumstances which lead to my siblings and I to depend on each other and be our own support system. I would highly recommend this book because it teaches valuable lessons on how to appreciate your family and respect your siblings.
