Hi Y'all,

This month we'll be joined by Jasmine Guillory who will answer your questions about our February Book Pick.

Leave your question below!

Melanie Tawil (melanietawil__) Who would play the characters in a motion picture?

I loved the whole book. It was so airy and just fun to read.

Renée | Book Girl Magic (bookgirlmagic) | 1 comments I love how food is incorporated into your books. Have you always been foodie? What’s your favorite food to eat?

Susan (yetanothersusan) | 2 comments So, um, why don't you think Sacramento has taco street cred? (and yes this would include an invite for you to come try some tacos)

Jessica Kaney (jesskaney) | 1 comments I like to listen to music in the background while I read...almost like a soundtrack to the book. What do you think the playlist would be for The Proposal?

jeanette lane | 1 comments Did you always plan for your characters to make appearances in other books or did you finish The Wedding Date and decide to write about Carlos? Already looking forward to The Wedding Party!

Danielle (littyreads) Was Carlos based off of a real person? His character seem so developed with all of his worries and gentlemen attributes.

Klarissa | 2 comments I so enjoyed your book, can you let me know since sports were incorporated into this book, what is your favorite sport and or sports team?

message 9: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim | 2 comments Really enjoyed this book and wanted to ask : What inspired the idea for the taco ranking date??!! And your comment about a man rolling up his sleeves and forearms being one of the sexiest parts of a man's body??!! Spot on!!

Laura (laurasloaninglibrary) (laurasloaninglibrary) | 1 comments I was wondering if you have ever lived in Los Angeles. I lived on the west side for 2.5 years and found your description of people & dating in LA to be DEAD ON so I was wondering if that came from personal experience.

I never have, but I have a lot of family and friends there and I've visited a lot all my life. And I have many friends in the dating scene in LA and we talk about that a lot! So glad it rang true to you!

Hahaha I love tacos, and I wanted an idea for a date that just wasn't dinner and drinks, so: the taco ranking was born! And I know many people who share this view of forearms!!!

I used to be a huge football (and 49er) fan, but I've cooled on football in recent years, and have transferred my affections to basketball and the Golden State Warriors!

Thank you so much for this compliment! Carlos was not based on anyone real, but I'm glad he felt so real to readers!

I always wanted to give Carlos his own story, but I didn't get the idea for The Proposal until well after I finished The Wedding Date. I'd come up with a few other ideas for Carlos, but none of them felt good enough for him! And then I thought about a book that starts with a proposal gone wrong, and boom: I knew THAT was the book for Carlos!

And thank you! I hope you love The Wedding Party!

I had a playlist for The Proposal that I listened to a lot! I didn't listen while writing (I can't listen to anything with words while I write) but for the months that I wrote the book, I listened to it anytime I was in my car or commuting. Here are some of the songs on it:

No Scrubs, TLC
Run the World, Beyonce
Since U Been Gone, Kelly Clarkson
Bye Bye Bye, NSYNC
Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Cyndi Lauper
Stronger, Britney Spears
Wannabe, Spice Girls
Flawless, Beyonce
I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor
Can't Get You Out of My Head, Kylie Minogue
Crazy in Love, Beyonce
Baby Got Back, Sir Mix A Lot
Good as Hell, Lizzo
California Love, 2Pac

Hahah I've had great tacos in Sacramento, but CARLOS scorns tacos from anywhere that isn't Los Angeles!

Oh I love so many different kinds of food! My parents both love to cook, so I grew up learning how to cook and have always been an adventurous eater. I especially love tacos of all kinds, and any kind of dumpling.

Thank you so much! I've heard so many great ideas about who would play Nik and Carlos! Some of my favorite suggestions have been Oscar Isaac or Adam Rodriguez for Carlos and Issa Rae or Gugu Mbatha-Raw for Nik!

Well Carlos is also a Dodger fan.......

Megan | 6 comments Love the idea of Carlos being played by Carlos PenaVega...

Great Playlist

Sandy West (sandywest) | 18 comments Just finished this title. I like it, seemed like sweet romance that one can just enjoy without much thought processing. I believe another book should be considered to cover the engagement and marriage of Nik and Carlos.
