Anyone know what they'll be reading first for this challenge? I'm not a real big planner, so I'm not sure yet for myself.
Checking in. Hi, team!Ways to double our footage this round:
1. set in Kentucky
2. title, author, or MC begins with B
3. "mountain" in title
4. mountain is a major setting
I'll be reading most of
. The pages will double, as one of the MC's (POV character) name is Boone and the author's last name is Bradley.
Let's double as many books as we can and get them read and posted as quickly as we can. Let's win this race to the top!

Hi guys, checking in :). I'm probably gonna finish
for Black Mountain since the author's last name is Brodersen. Can't wait :)
Thanks for the update, Megan!I'm always excited for the games Melanie and you create. Y'all have such wonderful imaginations!
Another book I've barely begun has an MC with the last name of Burne. So I've got my first two books lined up.

Ooh, that one looks good. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.

Doesn't it?! The first couple of chapters were good. I've had to set it aside for others right now... but I'm eager to get back to it!
Karin wrote: "Thanks for letting me join! I'm starting with Not By Sight by Kate Breslin."Such a great story... enJoy!
Megan wrote: "Update: If the series contains the word "mountain" that would also work to double points. :)"
The Mountains Bow Down by Sibella GiorelloAn excellent story and doubling option if anyone likes suspense and needs another book option-
Andrea wrote: "Thanks for the update, Megan! I'm always excited for the games Melanie and you create. Y'all have such wonderful imaginations!"Agreed! :)
Checking in-- hello, everyone! :) I've got a whole pile of books I need to dive into, and I'm sure that at least half of them can be used to double the points... I'll have to look though. :D Sorry I'm late!
Andrea wrote: "Merie, you're not late. The game begins on March 1, so you're actually early! :)"LOL I guess not xD

Yes, our team is already off to a great start! :)I'll be finishing a book and posting for 142 pages that will be doubled tomorrow (B author name).
For my first book I’m reading Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams. Or does their last name have to start with b?
We were quickly beat to the top of Black Mountain, so we are starting on a new mountain...Mountain #2: King's Peak (Utah, 13,527 ft)
Ways to double our footage/page points this round:
1. The book is set in Utah
2. The book's title, name of author, or name of MC begins with "K"
3. "Mountain" is in the book's title or series name/title
4. A mountain is a major setting in the book
Round 2 Team Goal: 13,527 pages (read within the March 1-May 31 period)
I’m now focused on finishing the last 126 pages of a Karen Kingsbury book I’m in the middle of.
We need to remember that we dont have to read books that meet the doubling criteria. We can read whatever we want and the pages we read during this challenge, in any books we finish during this challenge, will count toward any mountain we are climbing. 🙂
Yep. Still working on five different books I had going already. Hopefully a few of them will end up being quick reads.
Sadly, most of the books I am reading this month would have doubled for Mountain #1, but not for Mountain #2, however with Mountain/Round #1 lasting less than 2 and a half days, I’m getting the feeling we’re going to be cycling through mountains fast, and I’m hoping that some of my March reads will double for upcoming mountains.
Yeah... the speed of the other team was eye-opening! I usually have several books going, so they get finished in clumps sometimes.I like that you're looking ahead, Monique. I think that's smart. As long as we keep books coming, we should snag a couple of mountains along the way, right?!
I have quite a lot of books I need to read for review this month I'm sure some of them will count as double.
Tiffany wrote: "I’ll be reading The Bride of Ivy Green by Julie Klassen"Is that the second book in the series? I've only read the first book so far.
Deanne wrote: "The Bride of Ivy Green by Julie Klassen"Is that the second book in the series? I've only read the first book so far."
That's book 3 - the conclusion to the series
It’s book 3. It’s one of my review books and I didn’t realize it was number 3. So I’m switching to The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill and gonna try to read the whole series this month.
The series is lovely. I really enjoyed it!I'm also in the middle of a few books. I'm just now reading "A defense of honor" by Kristi Ann Hunter, so this one will double for Mountain #2.
Oh, we're already to mountain number two now! Luckily, K is a much easier letter to look around for... xD
