I just reread this series. It's probably good we didn't have a thread up yet, because I would've filled it with squee.
I've read all of them and I don't really recommend the last ook of short stories, but the rest of them are wonderful.
So excited about this one. I read these awhile back and cannot wait to read them again. My library has the audiobooks available, so I think I'll try those this time.
I've been unmotivated to read most of the other books I'm working on and this was a perfect fit for a challenge in another group so I ended up starting early. At 33% it is entertaining, although not quite as amazing as I was hoping based on everyone else's reviews. The writing style isn't totally captivating, but it's holding my attention enough to get my out of the slump I was in.
I'm four chapters in to Luck in the Shadows and fully enjoying this return to the company of Seregil and Alec.
Oops, forgot to come back to post about my end-of-book thoughts. It never managed to thrill me, but I was interested enough to want to keep going with the next book, especially since everyone tells me the first two are meant to be read as one. I'm expecting Stalking Darkness from my library any day now, so we'll see.

Buddy read of Luck in the Shadows starting on December 17th.The story wraps up in Stalking Darkness, so if you do plan on reading more after book 1, it might be a good idea to read the first two books pretty close together. Book 3 wraps up nicely, as do books 6 and 7, but 4-5 are another set that should maybe be read together.
This book wasn't in my reading plans. It just happened. I've spotted the book in a local library, remembered that there was a buddy read event coming and just wanted to see if it's something I'd like to read. Now I'm 16 chapters in and this is exactly what I like to read. Other books can wait ;)
Woohoo, Aga! (sorry, no intelligent comment, but Seregil and Alec are my guilty pleasure and I'm happy when folks like the books.
Seregil and Alec! <3(It's like when someone mentions Murderbot, one *must* reply with <3 or "I love Murderbot!" The same is true for Seregil and Alec.)
Picked this up too recently, in anticipation of this buddy read. So far about 25% through. It's fine enough, but I'm yet to be swept ^^'Somehow I always assumed Seregil and Alec were of same age / social standing, so, this master and orphaned boy trope came unexpected.
So happy to see this book and series getting some love! I'll be reading book five in the series with a friend in the coming year.
